General Electric Sr Staff Data & Information Architect in Lynn, Massachusetts

Role Summary:

In this role as “CAS Solution Architect”, the candidate will be leading the functional aspects of all Data Solutions for the Corporate Audit Staff. This role will partner closely with the CAS Data Architect as well the CAS organization (client) to define “Data” priorities, and deliver to those priorities; these should include, but are not limited to “Data” for: Audit analytics apps, CAS Data Request Packages, CAS Risk Assessment and Prior audit coverage packages.

  • The candidate should be the reference person for the CAS organization regarding any functional question related to “Data” and Financial Systems

  • The candidate will have to liaise between a) the CAS organization, b) the Data Architect and c) the CASCADE product and technical owners, to collect requirements, assess opportunities, and determine the roadmap/priorities for “Data”. This includes project reviews, feasibility analysis, and cost benefit analysis

  • The candidate will be accountable for the functional documentation and delivery of programs/projects related to: Audit analytics apps, CAS Data Requests, CAS Data packages for Risk Assessment and Prior audit coverage

  • The candidate will need to lead the functional architecture of solutions to complex requirements. These should include advance analytics products or features

  • The candidate will own reviewing functional details of existing and new products to ensure completeness and accuracy Qualifications/Requirements: Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting, Business or Information Technology

  • Minimum 5+ years working in the finance or technology space, ideally with some experience in the audit spaceEligibility Requirements

  • Proficient in accounting and control based audit principle

  • Familiar with basic data analytics and data science concepts

  • Good understanding of GE’s financial systems and data warehouse landscape

  • Ability to understand and/or build SQL queries

  • Basic understanding of data analysis (eg. Tools: iPython Notebook, Pandas & matplotlib) and Python web framework

  • Basic knowledge of databases SQL and No SQL (Postgres, MSSQL, MongoDB etc)

  • Demonstrated experience in financial systems and/or operations, better if also audit

  • Experience in the analytics space, and preferably basic data science

  • Organized, thorough, and detail oriented

  • Collaborates well with others to solve problems and actively incorporates input from various sources

  • Eager to learn, shares ideas, encourages and accepts feedback well

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills; anticipates obstacles and develops plans to resolve
