What you’ll do
The Product Manager, Enterprise Solutions reports to the Director of Business Development, Enterprise Solutions. Enterprise Solutions provides integrated end-to-end, single use (or hybrid) biomanufacturing platforms and modular facility solutions to the biologics industry. The Enterprise Solutions offerings primarily consist of Cytiva products however, 3rd party equipment will be identified and integrated into the offerings as needed to fill any gaps or accommodate any required customer preferences.
The Product Manager has the responsibility to manage the range of 3rd party supplier products with a focus on level of compliance & rigor aligned to current sourcing and other functional product requirements. The goal is to manage both new and existing 3rd party products over their lifecycle in a manner that maximizes the overall return/profit to the company and supports setting the strategic direction for these 3rd party products. This Product Manager will also provide input into and support the identification and onboarding of new 3rd party equipment needed to drive the Enterprise Solutions business.
The Product Manager is the main point of contact with the 3rd party suppliers for product matters and internal business stakeholders and is instrumental for bridging the Enterprise Solutions project execution and business development teams. The incumbent is also expected to provide/facilitate support to Enterprise Solutions customers for 3rd party products as needed. Additionally, this position will provide support to the Technology, Consumables, and Commercial Activation Team initiatives as needed.
Build and maintain excellent supplier relationships, communication, and exchange of information as required and support timely and efficient product support
Develop deep technical and business understanding of supplier products in scope, including equipment, consumables, automation, and service aspects
Review product risk, product pricing and lead time, data cybersecurity, product IP, packaging, EHS
Coordinate, motivate, and drive objectives across cross-functional groups for product/technology, commercial, sourcing/supply chain, quality, regulatory, service, EHS, trade compliance, materials, packaging, R&D, etc. to deliver effective results
Support/drive strategic and tactical customer applications across Enterprise Solutions projects
Make decisions based on business objectives
Establish/support launch plan and commercial activation of supplier products including internal training and FAQ generation
Ensure consumables fit and facilitate any necessary design
Establish/support logistics for product testing – hardware, consumables, automation
Collaborate with supplier and internal stakeholders to develop and support product service strategy including technical support plan, requirements and responsibilities, product warranty, spare parts, etc.
Support sourcing and supplier quality activities (e.g., supplier selection, supply chain strategy, part qualification, change control notification process, etc.)
Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required including defect/recall management
Support Sales and Evaluation & Offering teams with quotation and pre-contract phases
Interface with Enterprise Solutions business development and marketing teams on strategic additions and product co-promotion in the 3rd party design space
Product lifecycle management responsibilities including:
Alignment with quality systems, regulatory requirements, and commercial change processes
Product activation and registration
Engineering set up, development of purchase specs/revision and pricing strategy
Maintenance of products in the product lifecycle management system – initiation, updates, traceability, etc.
Maintenance of related product documentation (specifications, drawings, BOMs, manuals, testing/qualification, validation guides, etc.) and certifications
Management of product upgrades and obsolescence and definition of service models and structures
Act as technical point of contact with customers, project teams and other product managers
Organize the preparation of training materials to be used in supplier product training
Drive scale and operational excellence to better serve Enterprise Solutions projects and customers
Support the Technology, Consumables & Commercial Activation Team activities as needed
Travel as needed to support 3rd party products 10-15%
Who you are
BS/MS degree in Life Sciences or Engineering discipline or equivalent
Minimum of five (5) years relevant product management experience with greater than three (3) years multi-disciplinary knowledge of the life sciences or biomedical industry
Knowledge of biomanufacturing processes and equipment is preferred
Knowledge of and experience with product lifecycle management software is preferred
Sales or marketing experience will be highly valued
Demonstrated success in working in a collaborative, global and cross-functional environment
Demonstrated facilitation and negotiation skills in driving closure on project/product/program-related decisions/issues
Exceptional time management, facilitation, and organizational skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills - communicates in a clear and succinct manner and effectively evaluates information / data to make decisions, anticipates obstacles and develops plans to resolve
