Sumitomo Dainippon Pharma America Senior Director, Financial Applications Support in Marlborough, Massachusetts

Sumitomo Dainippon Pharma America (SDPA) is looking for a Senior Director, Financial Applications Support to join our Finance Organization in Marlborough, MA.

Lead the Financial Applications Support Center of Excellence (CoE) in supporting, maintaining and enhancing SDPA and its North American Affiliates’ ERP with associated integrations, Enterprise Performance Management platform, Financial Data Warehouse and data integrations. Responsible for providing strategy and guidance for the integrity and operations of computer applications and computerized information used by multiple entities’ Financial organizations. Through team management and mentoring troubleshooting and resolving software functionality-related and data integrity issues in assigned areas. Key team member in the design, implementation, and maintenance of business processes to assure proper operation of accounting and other financial software and related components focused on North America harmonization. Oversees assigned projects in design and implementation of reports and system modifications. Responsible for the team’s problem resolution, testing and validation of system fixes and upgrades in assigned areas. Provide input to planning, selection, and implementation of new systems. Maintain and update the strategic vision and direction of our financial applications to maximize the value of our technology investments that support accounting, consolidation, planning, reporting and analysis, and strategic decision-making activities. Responsible for ensuring staff training in use of applications and supporting processes in assigned areas. Business Partner to the functional leadership in multiple organizations providing the highest level of support and services for key business processes such as Annual Budget, Forecasts, Monthly Close, and Daily Operations.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for successfully managing and executing the annual FAS project plans for upgrades and enhancements to SDPA and affiliates’ ERP and Planning platforms.

  • Manage resources and deliverables to ensure the successful completion of multiple projects running simultaneously while balancing day to day support requirements.

  • Partner with the Functional Leadership teams within multiple Functions and Entities to identify opportunities for enhancements and process improvements to our Accounting, Finance and Planning functions.

  • Conduct stakeholder meetings with a forum to discuss ongoing FAS and business initiatives, project statuses, and application enhancements to support Business Objectives.

  • Ensure that ERP and all system data integrations are maintained and optimized to guarantee the highest level of data integrity, accuracy, and performance across all supported entities.

  • Manage leadership teams and 3rd party resources supporting the multiple organizations during the annual Budget, quarterly Forecast cycles and monthly Accounting closes as well as all daily operations.

  • Ensure that associated applications are maintained, loaded, and seeded in a timely manner, troubleshooting any issues and minimizing any disruption to end users. Proactively react to business or process modifications to support business changes and requirements.

  • Lead time to provide support and resources for the IT Infrastructure projects for multiple organizations that directly impact applications.

  • Communicate effectively with IT Apps and Infrastructure leadership to ensure they understand competing project deliverables, timelines, and constraints. Collaborate with IT Leadership to ensure successful completion of both FAS and Infrastructure projects.

  • Responsible for defining and communicating the strategic roadmap and future state of Sunovion’s and other affiliates to ensure maximum return on technology investments.

  • Validate against industry benchmarks and best practices within current applications. Provide project timelines, resource requirements, and budget estimates to support governance requirements as needed.

  • Negotiate contracts/SOWs with third party implementation partners and managed services resources to agreed upon SLA’s.

  • Lead and manage entire Financial Applications Support leadership staff including professional development opportunities and career growth.

  • Establishing team and individual performance metrics and SLA’s to support service levels for all entities servicing.

Minimum Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills Required

  • BS in Computer Science or Accounting or equivalent experience. Advanced degree (MS, MBA) desirable.

  • 10 plus years’ experience with accounting and finance systems, with support and development experience.

  • Proven success managing the complete end-to-end software development lifecycle for Enterprise Performance Management or ERP system implementations, including Oracle eBusiness Suite, NetSuite and Hyperion Planning.

  • Experience with solutions such as Coupa, Blackline, Tableau are a plus.

  • Project Management, Oracle EBS, NetSuite, Fusion

  • P2P Solutions such as Coupa, Hyperion Planning, Essbase, SmartView, PL/SQL, Informatica.
