RedHat Senior Software Engineer - Telco in Massachusetts
The Red Hat Engineering team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer with practical networking development experience to join us. In this role, you will help with packet movement inside servers from Network Interface Cards to kernel, to virtual machines, to containers. You will work with innovative technology and help define the next generationnetworking infrastructure for container environments (https://thenewstack.io/container-networking-breakdown-explanation-analysis/) from scratch. You will work as part of an international team spread over four continents. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
Primary job responsibilities
Develop next generation datapath networking infrastructure for container and virtualized environments
Contribute to upstream software development forOpen vSwitch (http://www.openvswitch.org/) (OVS),Data Plane Development Kit (https://www.dpdk.org/) (DPDK), and Open Virtual Network (OVN) projects
Design, develop, and deliver features for Red Hat’s datapath technologies
Work in a continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) environment for rapid development and feedback
2+ years of practical networking development in Linux
Practical coding experience in C
Linux networking development experience
Experience with software development in a real-time OS environment
Exposure to kernel networking fundamentals, virtual switching, and datacenter networking
The following are considered a plus:
Experience in Linux kernel or Linux user space development
Knowledge of networking fundamentals, e.g., IPv6 and TCP
Practical coding experience with Golang
Ability to work in a CI and CD environment
Familiarity with Kubernetes
Familiarity with real time kernel and real time applications
