The Principal Project Manager position is a highly visible role within Waters Global Products and Portfolio & Project Management Office (PPMO). This position will be responsible for leading strategically important, mission critical programs in a matrixed organization to deliver next generation products in the marketplace.
This position will lead cross functional teams that execute delivery of comprehensive solutions inclusive of an integrated system and consumables to customers. He or she will manage potential business partnerships and collaborations with the goal of providing our customers with industry leading products.
To lead, with minimum supervision, diverse, multi-functional teams in the execution of complex global programs that deliver products consisting of fully integrated systems and consumables.
Supervise multiple project managers within the project or program environment, identifying tasks and delegating where required.
Responsible for all aspects of Project Management for Product Delivery from concept to benefit realization within agreed scope, schedule and budget tolerances and keeping key management stakeholders appraised on project status.
Proactively utilize project management best practices to ensure adequate planning, monitoring, controls and risk management activities are conducted.
Coordinate with professional functions to provide holistic approach that includes all factors pertinent to the project success e.g. legal, commercial, financial, health & safety, operations.
Manage all projects within the appropriate Waters governance framework and Lifecycle management processes.
Manage relationships with third parties and other external collaborators, tracking work and communicating accordingly.
Provides mentorship and direction to colleagues within and outside the PMO.
A recognized project management qualification (e.g. PMP) with a minimum of 8+ years’ experience in leading teams and delivering projects.
Expert knowledge of the project lifecycle, its products, techniques, appropriate methodologies and approaches (e.g. Agile, waterfall).
Extensive and demonstrable experience in leading and managing large complicated (multifaceted) projects.
Ability to drive collaboration and decision making through the development of a strong team dynamic to foster alignment and commitment to shared goals and responsibilities.
Exceptional and well-practiced communication (verbal, written, listening), inter-personal and influencing skills at various levels of the organization.
Confident in effectively communicating and reaching agreement with stakeholders as well as navigating ambiguous, changeable, and complex environments to achieve desired outcomes.
Ability to distill and present complex data to inform and influence a wide range of stakeholders.
