Waters Principal SW Engineer in Milford, Massachusetts
Waters Corporation is currently seeking a Principal Software Engineer with experience in UX and UI design to join our organization. In this role, the individual will join a dynamic and collaborative environment, encouraging cross team development between other software development and UX groups across the organization. Specifically, the individual will join our R&D organization which develops our Instrument Technologies and have the opportunity to contribute to the design and implementation of our next-generation instrument control application suite.
Collaborate with team members to design, implement, test, and document complex front end web frameworks and application level solutions. These solutions will drive networked real-time analytical instrumentation through collaboratively designed communication gateways and back-end services.
UX/UI activities to implement designs according to user centered practices
Collaborate with team members to investigate, design, implement, test and document strategies and solutions.
The position requires a BS or MS degree in Computer Science or related engineering discipline, with a minimum of 10 years of experience including:
Experience in specification, design, implementation, and testing of instrument driver related software using Visual Studio, C#, .Net, WPF, C++, MFC and other appropriate technologies.
Experience with software development tools such as requirement management, source code control and software change tracking.
Experience in leadership/coordination/delivery of UI Design activities, including use of appropriate design tools.
Experience in leadership/coordination/delivery of UX activities, including use of appropriate prototyping tools and UX techniques.
Experience translating user requirements into well-designed software solutions.
Experience of successfully working with other functional teams, located both local and globally distributed, developing against project schedules and delivery targets.
Working knowledge in Cross-platform Mobile App Development.
Hands-on experience developing responsive single page web applications, using technologies like Angular or React
Results oriented with the ability to work independently and self-manage.
Strong OOP, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Additionally desirable: WebSockets, REST, ASync request handling, Agile, Unit Testing and TDD, JSON, GIT, Atlassian, CSS, HTML, Angular 2.0 or greater, Python
