MathWorks Aero/Auto Market Segmentation Internship in Natick, Massachusetts
Aero/Auto Market Segmentation Internship
MathWorks’ Technical Computing and Model-Based Design solutions are playing a key role in driving the innovation in AeroDef and Automotive industries in applications such as embedded systems development, data analytics, and others. We have an active opening for a summer intern to assess, refine and implement the current segmentations for the AeroDef and Automotive Industries to support increased adoption of MathWorks products in these market segments.
Review and Update (as needed) Existing AeroDef and Auto Market Segmentations
Initial work on the industry segmentations was done several years ago, in this position you will need to come up to speed on the existing segmentations and the rationale for the results.
Based on the existing segmentation, identify existing or new MathWorks data or external data that could be used for implementation.
Prototype the segmentation mapping to assess efficacy of segmentation (i.e. does the segmentation support better understanding of the business)
Map a subset of the customers to the proposed market segments
Verify these companies against MathWorks internal database to determine current level of MathWorks product adoption and identify benchmark accounts in each segment
Implement the segmentation in the MathWorks system
Review internal systems in which the data will be stored and reported on
Move the manual prototype to the production systems
Document process and the segmentation “rules” so that full scale production can be out sourced
- Candidates must be pursuing an MBA.
BS, or MS in relevant engineering discipline from a leading university (EE, ME, etc.)
Knowledge of MathWorks products (MATLAB, Simulink, Stateflow) or other multi-domain simulation or embedded systems development software
