The Commerce Applications team is looking for a Product Owner to manage a portfolio of strategic web applications and services. Solutions in this portfolio provide internal users, third party business partners, and customers the ability to create quotes and place orders for products offered by MathWorks Inc.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the creation and execution of a functional roadmap by working closely with business leaders, helping us realize our long-term vision and strategy

  • Collaborate with technical leads to develop a technology roadmap to articulate where we need to evolve, enhance, or replace systems to stay ahead of business needs.

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to determine project priority, timelines

  • Maintain a prioritized, groomed backlog of epics and stories

  • Work as part of an agile development team to create release plans and deliver solutions

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree and 7 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree and 5 years of professional work experience, or equivalent experience) is required.

  • Candidates for this position must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer without restriction.

  • Visa sponsorship will not be provided for this position.

Additional Qualifications

  • Experience with custom-built web applications

  • Experience managing a product backlog across a portfolio of applications, considering input from a variety of stakeholders

  • Demonstrated ability to elicit business requirements and translate them into practical and clear user stories

  • Can perform cross-functional impact analysis, proactively reaching across team boundaries to communicate and collaborate when adjacent teams will be affected

  • Can explain complex information to a variety of audiences

  • Understands relational database design and can read/write SQL

    Plusses:

  • Ideal candidate was a developer in “a past life” using Java or similar programming language

  • Familiarity with CPQ applications
