International Data Group Project Coordinator in Needham, Massachusetts

IDC’s Worldwide Custom Solutions group designs, develops and delivers content marketing services and market intelligence programs for Information Technology (IT) industry participants (vendors, providers, partners).

We are currently seeking a Project Coordinator in our Domain Team to manage projects that research the business value of modern IT solutions and services. Projects involve custom primary research with IT solution end-customers, analysis of results, development of quantitative business value metrics including Return on Investment (ROI), and development of marketing assets, such as white papers, infographics, analyst featured videos, and webcasts reporting the results of IDC business value research.

To be successful as a Project Coordinator, you will need to thrive in a fast-paced environment, be very organized and able to handle multiple projects, manage tight deadlines, and have excellent verbal, written and presentation skills. You will be responsible for creating project workplans, working with project teams to adhere to schedules, and managing customer expectations and scope. Reporting to the Vice President of Custom Solutions, the role includes project management, administration, documentation, and accounting.

Ultimately, the Project Coordinator’s duties are to ensure that projects are completed on time, meet IDC’s quality standards and client expectations. IDC clients rely upon our content to influence customer perceptions, generate leads, engage prospects, and enable sales.

This is a contract position based in Needham, MA (currently remote due to COVID-19).

The successful candidate will be hired as a W2 employee through WorkForce LogIQ, IDC's contingent staff vendor.

  • Develop in-depth understanding of project scope, timeframes, budgets, and delivery requirements for Business Value project offerings

  • Liaise with IDC custom solutions colleagues to scope business value research engagements, assess feasibility, and draft business value proposals

  • Ensure projects adhere to standard frameworks and documentation is maintained appropriately for each project.

  • Coordinate project management activities for up to 20 to 30 projects at any given time, each with 12-16+ weeks development cycles

  • Define and assign tasks to project members and assist with schedule management

  • Monitor project progress and handle any issues that arise

  • Make sure that client’s needs are met as projects evolve

  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time and within scope

  • Use standard project management tools to manage multiple project plans, project documents, reports, and expenditures

  • At least 2-4 years of work experience as a Project Coordinator or related field

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field of study. PMP training or certification is helpful.

  • Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills.

  • Demonstrated capabilities in business math skills.

  • Solid organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management

  • Strong client-facing and teamwork skills

  • Ability to work effectively both independently with minimal managerial supervision and as part of a team.

  • Demonstrated understanding of project management concepts and tools (Gantt charts) where dependencies and milestones are important for project success

  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
