What You'll Contribute:

We're seeking a motivated individual who wants to contribute to a growing UX practice and an evolving user-centered digital environment. The ideal candidate is a fast learner, curious minded, challenge driven, and results oriented, with a desire to improve things. Anyone can complain about the world, but only a few can fix it. The User Experience Designer will be instrumental in supporting the UX team in exploring interaction models, validating UX recommendations and developing prototypes that can be tested with customers and prospects in our onsite User Research Lab.

Working as part of the User Experience Design team, the User Experience Designer will:

  • Collaborate with digital strategy, marketing, sales, legal, and developers to refine and define the interaction models
  • Lead UX activities and conversations in a cross-capability Agile team
  • Work in tandem with Agile Team, communicating functional behavior and interaction design specifications
  • Apply knowledge of Human Factors, User-Centered Design, interaction design, user research methodologies, industry standards and trends in the digital space
  • Apply a strong understanding of UI design principles (structure, simplicity, tolerance, visibility, proximity, similarity, continuity, closure, and connectedness, contrast, balance, typography)
  • Help the UX team with documentation of in-house design standards (processes, definitions, pattern libraries)
  • Maintain currency in the UX field through reading, networking events, workshops, and conferences, and share knowledge with the broader team

User Experience Designer's primary job functions are as follows:

  • Develop flow diagrams, IA(Information Architecture), user flows, persona-driven design, task analysis, and user research planning
  • Plan and/or perform necessary research for each project to evolve and continuously improve user experience
  • Present UX concepts to stakeholders and Agile Team, and iterate appropriately
  • Apply Responsive Web Design and Mobile First approaches to design
  • Ensure designs meet Web Standards and WCAG AA Accessibility Guidelines
  • Use and contribute to Design Systems and Patterns Library
  • Work within Lean UX, Agile methodologies and corresponding team collaboration
  • Produce high-fidelity annotated wireframes in Sketch
  • Assist with requirements gathering and QA

Requirements

What You Have:

  • Proficient collaborator
  • Detail-oriented and highly developed organizational skills including the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Effective communication matters: being able to articulate design rationales, walk through the process of preparing for and presenting designs
  • A master of both implicit and explicit listening skills: understand stakeholder and user perspectives, and learn how to empathize with them
  • Passionate about keeping up to speed with trends and innovations in emerging technologies, experience design, marketing, and development
  • Ability to take direction and follow established guidelines, but know when not to conform
  • Solution driven: leveraging both analytical and tactical skills
  • Focused on the immediate output without losing sight of the desirable outcome

Preferred:

  • 5 years Experience working on financial websites preferred
  • Experience with Design Thinking is a plus
