WATTS Director, Global IT Infrastructure and Operations in North Andover, Massachusetts

The IT function within Watts Water Technologies aims at providing stable, secure, and high-performance IT services to the business. The IT organization also partners with the business to develop agile and innovative solutions to increase business performance and value. The team is responsible for the implementation, maintenance and development of Information Systems and supporting IT infrastructure for all Watts Water Technologies companies globally.The role of the Director, Global IT Infrastructure and Operations is to lead the planning, organizing, and managing of staff to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of all IT infrastructure across the global enterprise. This encompasses developing, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing key functional areas in network infrastructure, server infrastructure, telecommunications systems, end user computing, help desk, and other employee productivity tools. Manage the infrastructure team in the day-to-day operations of a global 24/7 production environment as well as contribute to the development of the IT strategic plan. The primary goal of the Infrastructure Team is to deliver a high performing and highly reliable technical infrastructure service in support of Watts Water Technologies business and IT objectives.


  • Report directly to the CIO & serve as a member of the CIO's Senior Leadership Team.

  • Lead the IT infrastructure team and external service providers; set goals, prioritize projects, communicate with stakeholders, and oversee budgets.

  • Define the overall mission of the Infrastructure Services team

  • Work with IT leadership, Senior Management, business leaders, and decision-makers to define and implement a Strategic Plan for the portfolio of all IT infrastructure, integration tools, and technologies; and articulate them to team members and other associates

  • Provide overall direction, guidance, and definition of the company's infrastructure, bringing current knowledge and future vision of infrastructure technology and systems and best practices related to the needs of the business

  • Establish metrics, key performance indicators and service level agreements for driving the performance of IT infrastructure service delivery.

  • Participate in the IT Strategy Deployment process

  • Own the IT Infrastructure & Operations budget and drive and identify cost efficiencies

  • Coordinate the delivery of infrastructure projects for the organization and provide consultation on the impact to business and application portfolios

  • Work closely with decision makers in other departments to proactively identify, recommend, develop, implement and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects within his / her area of responsibility.

  • Communicate effectively and proactively about IT infrastructure related matters with all relevant stakeholders

  • Maintain knowledge of industry-wide IT infrastructure / architecture standards and best practices

  • Bring an infrastructure and integration perspective to all IT initiatives and ensure that all program and project activities adhere to IT architectural standards and practices

  • Implement objective performance metrics for continual monitoring of progress against enterprise objectives.

  • Initiate, evaluate, and negotiate Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and Statements of Work (SOWs) from vendors.

  • Researches, evaluates, and stays current on emerging security tools, trends, policies, best practices, techniques, and technologies


  • Bachelors’ Degree in Information Technology, computer Science, or related field


  • This role is responsible for managing a diverse technical staff and resources from a combination of in-house and multiple sourcing providers across a global environment


  • 7+ years of experience leading a technical IT function

  • Experience with infrastructure management in a global enterprise applying a combination of internal resources and external vendors

  • Demonstrated ability to present and communicate written and verbal recommendations

  • Track record of negotiating terms internally and externally

  • A proven track record of managing diverse technical staff and resources from a combination of in house and multiple sourcing providers across a global environment

  • Proven experience in creating and defining new operations models/procedures and explaining complex problems or situations

  • Project planning and management skills, including ability to identify and assess risk to determine action

  • Experience developing and executing on Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery planning a plus

  • Strong leadership and management abilities

  • Collaborative approach and ability to work with stakeholders at all levels of an organization

  • Excellent interpersonal skills in staff supervision, end-user support, and peer interactions at management levels

  • Proactive, result-oriented and hands-on attitude

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
