WATTS Senior Manager, IoT Platform in North Andover, Massachusetts
The Connected Solutions Shared Service (CS3) organization within Watts Water Technologies is responsible for the implementation, maintenance and development of connected systems for all Watts Water Technologies companies globally. The Senior Manager IoT Platform is an important role reporting to the Director, Connected Solutions and will be responsible for working closely with senior stakeholders translating business requirements into systems, applications or process designs expanding our residential and commercial solutions globally. Performs all other duties as required to support Watts Smart & Connected Product Strategy. The primary objective of the Senior Manager IoT Platform works with Watts businesses and executives to identify platform requirements, analysis, and provide cost justifications for various IoT solutions. Manage software development teams and projects from the conceptual stages through the development cycle. You will ensure that the development process, architecture and standards are followed. Responsible for team's performance on deliverables, quality of code and schedule. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Manage the Software Development teams maximizing their productivity, efficiency and engagement while promoting opportunities for cross-team collaboration with Business Units
Foster a high performing Agile based culture of trust, teamwork, empowerment, accountability, responsiveness, and communications.
Set Boundaries, success criteria, and measure progress.
Mentor professional growth oversee day-to-day operational logistics and fulfill normal administrative tasks including overlooking productivity of local and remote resources
Establish a deep understanding of objectives, deliverables, and solution approaches used with an eye for operationalizing the solution and maintaining it in production.
Discuss short- and long-term architectural objectives with Product Owners and Business Unit Leaders.
Proactively engage managers and leads across the organization to ensure development is meeting the needs of the customers both internal and external
Establish and proactively monitor development metrics using available tools, be able to recommend ways to extract efficiency and cost metrics.
Build technical depth in the team with proactive analysis of current and future skill gaps.
Assists with special projects or other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in MIS, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Development or related field experience desired.
- This position has direct reports
10+ years of experience in software and software systems development with at least 5+ years of experience facilitating product feature or requirements development.
Experience with Azure Kubernetes Services (AKS) deploying strategies leveraging containerized applications and microservices tools preferred.
Experience with common IoT technologies, frameworks, and mobile/web technology, Microsoft stack software development preferred.
Must have prior experience owning end-to-end cloud deployed application or product, delivery and managing/leading a diverse software engineering team.
Track record of delivering complex distributed system projects using AWS, Google, and/or Azure cloud services.
Understanding of enterprise systems architecture patterns including data modeling, database design, performance monitoring, tuning, and unit testing.
Ability to establish and articulate a vision, set goals, develop strategies, execute projects, and track/measure results
Versed and comfortable in various project methodologies.
Some travel may be required (less than 20%)
