The Teradyne Software Engineering team is looking for a highly-motivated, energetic, technically driven Embedded Software Engineer to focus on the development of software systems for Embedded and Analog products within the Defense and Aerospace Business Unit. This individual will report directly to the Software Engineering Manager.

Embedded Software development tasks consist of writing and maintaining software that presents a programmatic interface to the low-level hardware of Automatic Test Equipment (ATE). The software is intended to control the hardware (analog test instrumentation) and interface to databases and class structures that will be loaded to the ATE. The code that is developed will interface to hardware directly and through firmware. It will also provide a more generalized interface up to user-level software.
Develop embedded systems on microcontrollers/embedded processors
Debug system and board level modules through the software toolset, working closely with hardware and firmware engineers
Develop and maintain internal software tools to assist the development and debugging process
Develop and maintain internal tools to measure and assure the quality of the delivered software
Basic Qualifications & Skills:
10+ years’ experience
Proficient in C/C++
Proficient in Eclipse Style Editors (Code Composer)
Proficient in Visual Studio 2015 (or later) or equivalent
Firm grasp of software development process
Proficient in embedded development, including DSP chipset software development (i.e. TI TMS320C6000 or equivalent)
Proficient with hardware-facing software
Proficient with functional hardware concepts (i.e. triggering, hysteresis, etc)
Proficient with analog and discrete signal processing concepts, particularly as applied to test and measurement equipment
Proficient with the use of lab equipment (i.e. DSOs, DMMs, AWGs)
Excellent written, verbal and group communication skills.
Experience with Source Control Management
Nice To Have:
- Experience working with test and measurement industry standards, like VXI, PXI, LXI
Minimum BS degree in EE, CS, Computer Engineering or equivalent
