Amazon's MSP team is look for a proven technology leader to support the development and scaling of advanced automation technologies at Amazon. The Technical Program Manager team manages New Product Introduction (NPI) of highly automated systems in Amazon's fulfillment network. This position requires the ability to innovate and deliver high-impact, complex, technical programs.

Key job responsibilities

  • Accountable for the overall strategy of a large, high impact program from concept to delivery.

  • Work closely with stakeholders & customers to achieve the org strategy. Align technical development with product vision, business objectives, ensuring execution of the product roadmap

  • Collaborate with various stakeholders, including operations, engineering, and development teams, to deliver critical solutions. Provide prioritization and conflict resolution for the program.

  • Responsible for managing the product development process - including defining project timelines, milestones, and tracking progress.

  • Work with Product to define key performance indicators (KPIs), test criteria, and use data and analytics to measure the success of the product.

  • Understand the architecture of the systems you work with (e.g., hardware, controls, network, workflows, APIs, runtime characteristics, design limitations, and maintenance requirements). You influence team technical priorities and business strategy through data-driven contributions.

  • Be a technical problem solver on the team, articulating program goals, desired outcomes, risks/issues, mitigation planning and at times implementing innovative solutions to project roadblocks.

  • Simplify. By applying project management best practices, you increase the productivity and effectiveness of the teams you work with.

  • Mentor and support development of junior team members

About the team

The MSP team drives future innovation across all aspects of Customer Fulfillment and Packaging, from advancement of new materials to development of automation utilizing deep analytics and machine learning to determine the smartest, most efficient way to process & deliver customer orders. We drive global partnerships with key stakeholders such as Operations, Supply Chain, Transportation, World-Wide (WW) Design, etc. to ensure we deliver robust products that effectively integrate into the Amazon Fulfillment network.

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • 10+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

  • 7+ years of technical program management experience

  • 5+ years of software development experience

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8+ years of hands-on work managing complex technology projects experience

  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

  • Masters Degree in Engineering or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $141,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $275,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
