We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Reliability Engineer. You will lead failure investigations of robotic and automation systems at various levels, collaborate with multiple stakeholders, and drive improvements in product design and reliability. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the reliability, maintainability, and supportability of our cutting-edge robotic products.
Responsibilities
Lead failure investigations of robotic and automation systems at the system, product, and component level.
Conduct investigations across multiple stakeholders including customers, field support, design teams, suppliers, and commodity management.
Partner with engineering development teams to integrate lessons learned into new product designs.
Influence design releases and define requirements for new robots across all phases of the product development lifecycle.
Provide Design for Reliability, Maintainability, and Supportability guidance to new robotic products and solutions teams.
Communicate concisely, both verbally and in writing, to leadership. Present monthly and quarterly failure and reliability reviews of the product portfolio to leadership.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on critical projects, proposing and managing reliability engineering initiatives independently.
Identify and overcome obstacles independently, finding alternative paths and delivering solutions and results.
Define reliability engineering baselines of complex robotic and automation products and systems and develop monitoring mechanisms to proactively identify quality and reliability risks.
Provide network-wide health assessments and reliability predictions with correlations to product support-cost including maintenance and supply chain.
Develop diagnostic capabilities for complex electromechanical systems including automation-based diagnostics tools and knowledge base to support the network in identifying proper failure modes and causes of robotic and automation systems and products.
Develop Reliability Test Plans for existing and in-design robotic and automation solutions.
Develop structures and mechanisms to obtain field failure data across a portfolio of robotic solutions where data gathering is complex and unstructured.
Develop Failure Modes and Effects Analysis.
Develop mechanisms for prioritizing failure and reliability investigations.
Develop Reliability Centered Maintenance procedures for robotic and automation systems and products. Identify areas for predictive maintenance.
Identify systemic inefficiency, develop mechanisms, processes, tools, operating procedures to solve systemic inefficiency, and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the team and workflow.
Drive to root cause identification, corrective actions, and preventative actions.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Computer Engineering.
Over 5 years of experience in Hardware Quality Engineering.
Proficient in 8D, SPC, MSA, Six Sigma, and FMEA.
Skilled in Design for Manufacturability, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances, and measurement tooling and fixturing.
Experienced with Minitab, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
Certifications: CQE, CRE, or CSSBB certification.
Familiar with ISO9000, IATF16949, or ISO13485 standards and quality systems auditing.
Proficient in PTC Windchill Quality solutions, various platform tools, SQL, Agile PLM, MS Project, Visio, and Tableau.
Work Environment
Candidate will be working from our North Reading Facility.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $74.00 - $74.71
