This is role is well-suitedto an ambitious professional looking for the next step in your career. As a Sr. Human Factors Engineer/User Experience Lead– Point of Care youwill be responsible for :

  • Being the subject matter expert andtechnical leader in human factors engineering responsible for lifecycleapplication of human factors design process, principles, analysis, andusability testing methods.

  • Leading product definition for newproducts and platforms by applying “systems thinking”, user centered design& development methodologies.

  • Leading user and customer researchactivities to identify user needs/requirements and translating those findings,insights into design solutions.

  • Driving decision making on productfeatures and functionality by collaborating with various functions such asRegulatory, Marketing, Service, Quality, and other functions withinR&D.

  • Supporting design and development ofuser interfaces working with UX designers, software developers. Supportingcreation of technical documentation for products such as User manuals, IFUsand Quick Reference Guides, Training and Marketing Collateral.

  • Ensures that development plans, processesand activities address human factors engineering process and designrequirements in order to maximize product usability and use-related safety.

  • Collaborates with development teams tooptimize designs in consideration of use error risk and overall usability, andparticipates in identification, analysis, and evaluation of use-related riskand development of risk controls.

  • Ex pertwith relevant quality regulations (21 CFR Part 820.30), humanfactors/usability engineering standards (IEC 62366-1, ANSI HE75, ISO14971), and FDA guidance.

  • Responsible for planning and conductinghuman factors analyses, summative and formative usability studies. This mayinvolve directing others or personally executing study/protocol design, studyexecution, data collection and analysis, as well as writing study reports andcommunicating findings and recommendations to teams.

  • Contributes to the design developmentprocess by participating in design review meetings, reviewing, and contributingto design inputs, risk analysis, and reviewing and testing new productperformance.

  • Responsible for HF assessments includedin regulatory documents submitted to the FDA (or other regulatory bodies).

  • Responsible for ensuring compliance toapplicable standards and guidance and keeping current on new developments inhuman factors engineering standards, policies.

  • Developcollaborative working relationships with a range of functions including,but not limited to R&D, Marketing, Quality, Regulatory and Clinicalfunctions.

  • Applypersuasion to change the thinking of and/or gain acceptance from variousstakeholders, cross-functional teams and drive decision making whilemaintaining an effective working relationship.

Experienceand requirements for success in this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human FactorsEngineering, Industrial Design, Human-Computer Interaction, SystemsEngineering or related field with relevant or equivalent experience.

  • 8-10 years’ experience in medicaldevice or related industry. Demonstrated experience in the capacity as aUX lead for new product development.

  • Demonstrated ability to providetechnical leadership for human factors engineering projects, understandingof user centered design, heuristic evaluations, design of experiments, andstatistical analysis, HFE requirements, standards. Understanding of design requirements fordevelopment, validation, and verification of medical products.

  • Flexibility to accommodate and workwith teams across different time zones and willing to travel up to 20%.
