Aqueduct Technologies Inc. Principal IT Infrastructure Architect in Peabody, Massachusetts

Aqueduct Technologies is seeking an IT Architect for our customer based on the North Shore. Possessing a strong business and technical background, the focus will be to build systems that meet current business requirements within a resource-appropriate design that are scalable for future growth. The key to this success in this position is the ability to understand current systems, research available technology differentiators, and strategically design a roadmap towards future operations. The Principle IT Architect will be working with the broader technology team to design, configure, deploy, maintain, and support our comprehensive enterprise systems infrastructure (hybrid on premise and in the cloud). They will need to ensure reliability and consistency in the IT Infrastructure, appropriate levels of proper security configuration and access control, and operational compliance with business standards. You will complete your work responsibilities in tight partnership with other IT colleagues and business stakeholders.

Essential Job Functions

  • Utilize technical and infrastructure management skills for planning, architecting, and implementing enterprise-class IT solutions and services.

  • Analyze problems, access systems health and life cycle, monitor performance, and recommend solutions, products, and technologies to meet business objectives & requirements

  • Define infrastructure standards for operation, work to implement those standards, and ensure they are evaluated on a regular cadence for adherence and continuous improvement

  • Design, configure, deploy, maintain, and support the company?s enterprise server and network/communications infrastructure including but not limited to Active Directory, SSO, Virtual Servers, VDI, Storage Arrays, O365, Teams, Exchange Online & email archive, AWS, Azure, Firewalls, VPN, SIEM, SD-WAN devices, Switches, Routers, Wireless, Voice gateways, Backups and Disaster Recovery.

  • Ensure that you deliver the capabilities that address current and future business needs in the following areas:

  • Software/Hardware Infrastructure Architectures

  • Network Architectures

  • Cloud Architectures

  • Communication Architectures

  • Security Approved Architectures

  • Database Architectures

  • Evaluate and perform planning, testing, and implementation of software and hardware upgrades

  • Manage new project initiatives with full lifecycle (design, testing, implementation, and initial support) focusing on the technical implementation, support requirements, and most importantly frictionless end user experience. Must be able to prioritize and manage both project and daily workflow responsibilities

  • Provide support assistance for the company?s 7x24x365 mission critical infrastructure systems; including on-call, change window, and unplanned emergency response

  • Partner with the security team to design systems that actively protect the organization?s information technology assets and infrastructure from external or internal threats and ensure compliance with policies and procedures including regulatory requirements regarding information access, security and privacy

  • Maintain system documentation and configuration data for operating, regulatory, and audit purposes

  • Adhere to proper process and change management requirements

  • Collaboratively work with a global IT team and partner with external vendors for support of both internal, external, cloud, and hosted systems

  • Ability to lead or contribute on multiple highly complex projects with final deliverable meeting requirements, on time, and within budget.

  • Detailed oriented approach with an ability to manage all project aspects from scoping, development, to delivery providing regular status updates and oversight

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of recent professional experience in Sr. System Engineering/Architecture

  • Proven experience as an IT Architect, including daily support, process maintenance program, project support and new technology evaluation/integration

  • Previous responsibility for Messaging Administration (hybrid on premise and cloud) and associated communication platforms

  • Business continuity planning experience ? (data backup & disaster recovery, testing and validation); on premise and in the cloud

  • Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms

  • Professional experience with current network security protocols, hardware and software

  • BS in Information Technology, Computer Science or directly related discipline (Master's degree preferred)
