Berkshire Health Systems PACS Specialist in Pittsfield, Massachusetts
Under the general direction of the Director Imaging Technology, the incumbent will be responsible for assisting with the development, planning, implementing, monitoring, and maintaining of day-to-day operations of the primary RIS (Radiology Information System) and CIS (Cardiology Information System), including PACS, RIS, Enterprise Archive, UV (Universal Viewer) & CCW (Centricity Cardio Workflow), as well as every other in -house post-processing DICOM software in-house. Responsible for the support of all RIS (Radiology Information System) components, including dictation/voice recognition system (Powerscribe), mammography reporting system (Penrad), and quality improvement reporting system (Peervue) and any other third-party systems that support Radiology and Cardiology departments. Individual will be expected to act as a liaison in information technology projects/issues for Imaging related services. IT responsibilities include trouble shooting, problem management and apply analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve systems issues to maximize the efficiency and benefit of the Imaging technology division of the IT department at Berkshire Health Systems.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.)
Minimum 3 years Full Time experience as Radiology/Cardiology PACS Administrator or Analyst required.
Experience with voice dictation systems, like PowerScribe, Penrad, and/or CCW required.
Experience working with imaging modalities, hardware and networks required.
Experience working with Radiology Information Systems (RIS); preferably Meditech Expanse required.
Education and Training:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or equivalent experience required.
Expert proficiency in PACS, and high level of proficiency in RIS workflows is required.
Expert computer proficiency is required in this role.
Expert Knowledge of PACS systems and radiology workflows required; preferably Centricity PACS.
License, Certification & Registration:
Certified Imaging Informatics Professional (CIIP) preferred, not required .
Certified PACS Associate (CPAS) preferred, not required .
Certified DICOM Integration Professional (CDIP) preferred, not required .
Certified PACS System Analyst (CPSA) preferred, not required .
Exceptional computer software and systems skills.
Available during non-working hours to come in when problems arise or as needed.
Must be available for on-call Imaging related IT needs.
Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences, both verbally and in writing.
Strong adult teaching skills in both individual and group settings.
Ability to deal with groups and conduct meetings.
Proven process and analytical ability.
Independent, well-organized and systematic in work.
Knowledge of diagnostic imaging processes and terminology.
Self-motivated, independent and possess the ability to learn quickly.
