HII USG has an exciting Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL) Systems Simulation Engineer role, whcih will contribute to the design, development, integration, and test of a HWIL simulators for autonomous undersea and surface platforms and auxiliary systems. The simulators will be used to assist decision making in all stages of the product life cycle, from concept development, design, testing, manufacturing, delivery, fielding, and in-service engineering support. The HWIL Simulation Engineer will work with system engineers and software engineers in a fast-paced, team-based, and challenging technical environment. Tasks will include leading the development and implementation of HWIL system architecture, implementing the technical standards, principles, concepts, and techniques in the development of HWIL system solutions, analying the autonomous platforms at a system level and define high level testing strategy for the validation of the system, execute the necessary test suites, test cases, test sequences, test measurements and test experiments, and other needed components in the test management system.HII USG has an exciting Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL) Systems Simulation Engineer role, whcih will contribute to the design, development, integration, and test of a HWIL simulators for autonomous undersea and surface platforms and auxiliary systems. Essential Job Responsibilities

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.

  • Minimum of 1 years of relevant HWIL systems experience, including development of HWIL configurations and conduct of HWIL test activitie (configuration, test scripting, test conduct, etc)

  • Minimum 2 years of experience with C/C+

    • Minimum 1 years with Python development
  • Must have secret clearance #LI-MH1

Preferred Requirements

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering or Software Engineering or similar.

  • Experience with MATLAB/Simulink

  • Experience with Linux operating system

  • Knowledge of dynamics and control systems

  • Familiarity with vehicle platform design (energy, communication, navigation, propulsion, etc.)

Physical Requirements

Office, industrial, or shipboard environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances. Lifting and moving materials may be required.
