MER IT/ Systems Business Analyst in Randolph, Massachusetts

Job Title: IT/Systems Business Analyst

Department: Support Team

Reports To: Director of IT/Business Process


The IT/Systems Business Analyst is a support position established to support the internal project management office including system implementation and support, process improvements, and device management.


  • Assist with business process re-engineering and continuous improvement efforts.

  • Understand, develop and document key business processes throughout MER and its subsidiaries.

  • Evaluate/implement potential software solutions, including:

  • Evaluate products in Microsoft Office 365 E3 Software Suite for application at MER.

  • Project Manage Electronic work ticketing (E-WOWS) Implementation and on going program development.

  • Develop client portal, system improvements.

  • Work with Operation Managers on report development.

  • Responsibility for MER’s Non-Billable (Employee) Portal management and training.

  • Assist in development/further implementation of employee intranet.

  • Assist in development/implementation of Share-Point to replace “G” Drive.

  • Responsibility for Terralink/Electronic Manifest and program standardization.

  • Project Manage Spectrum’s (MER’s Accounting Software/ERP) Preventative Maintenance and Equipment Control module

  • Develop/use Spectrum Info-Link to tie Spectrum to Combined Fleet report.

  • Mileage/Meter/hour Imports into Spectrum Automate Reporting of DOT/ Compliance/ accident reports through Spectrum/Info-link.

  • Develop monthly DOT/Compliance/Accident Reports.

  • Develop/Implement/Execute a comprehensive Device Management Program.

  • Assignment/configuration of phones/tablets/laptops.

  • Evaluate implementation of a Device Management Solution.

  • Tracking and Reporting of use/abuse.


  • At least one year of project management support experience.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Strong communication (both written and verbal) and analytical skills, and the ability to interact effectively with clients, employees and management.

  • Strong computer skills, particularly with MS Office and web-based software.

  • Display strong time management, organizational, and problem solving skills.

  • Ability to serve as an outside representative of the Company.

  • Ability to work in excess of regularly scheduled hours when necessary.

  • Ability to travel overnight as required by business needs.

  • INCLUDING sporadic frequent travel in support of internal projects and/or unplanned IT-related events.


  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree

  • NOTE – relevant industry and/or business experience can supplement educational requirement as determined by management
