The Digital Orthopedic Surgery team is building a software platform for our robotic surgery product line. Be a part of a growing team bringing innovation to patient care through technology! We are looking for candidates with a strong work ethic who are deeply motivated to impact patient's lives through advanced robotic technology! The team is using robotics and digital tools for surgical teams to increase the performance, accuracy, and safety of surgical procedures. We are creating an extensible operating room ecosystem to support our surgical products. Our vision is to create a process of continuous improvement through analysis of intra-operative and post-operative surgical data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • As a member of a cross-functional team, you will develop and support the user interface, control, and data acquisition software for the test system that we design.

  • Candidate will work closely with differnet teams to help design and build an integrated test bench for our surgical robotics system.

  • Candidate will be a part of the Embedded design and Firmware team to help support various system testbenches.

  • Working with Test Engineers to devise testing strategies and scenarios on which to build test cases

  • Write design descriptions and architectural documentation in compliance with regulation our Quality Management System.

  • Build software acquisition tools to collect device telemetry for machine learning for reliability and product improvement.

  • Enable next-generation data management capabilities for our surgical robotics platform

  • A Minimum of Bachelor's degree is required in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science or any related Engineering field

  • Proven experience of 5+ years in relevant engineering roles

  • Experience writing test code utilizing Python or LabVIEW, and similar tools

  • Experience writing code utilizing C, C++, QT, and/or .NET

  • Experience in Embedded design using Microcontrollers, Canbus, RS232 and SPI communications

  • Experience with requirements analysis, tracking and test strategy development in a highly regulated environment (medical devices in particular)

  • Experience using Agile development practices and Agile software development tools for managing test cases (Polarion, JIRA, AZURE.. etc.)

  • This position is located in Boston, MA and may require up to 10% travel


  • Automation and integration experience using LabVIEW and NI products to communicate with hardware and software components

  • Proven experience with Embedded Software testing using TestStand, VeriStand, and DIAdem or other test suite tools

  • Experience with National Instruments Hardware including but not limited to PXI, cRIO, and cDAQ

  • Knowledge of real-time control systems (RTLinux, Labview Realtime. etc)
