DePuy Synthes, a Johnson & Johnson Medical Device Company is recruiting for a Sr. Systems Usability Engineer to join the Digital Orthopedic Surgery Group in Boston, Mansfield, or Raynham, MA or Warsaw, IN.

You will be joining the Digital Platform Center of Excellence, a new Johnson & Johnson Medical Devices initiative intended to build the digital platform portfolio for the Medical Devices Sector. The Digital Platform COE is building dedicated engineering and product development teams to deliver critical platforms.
The Sr. Systems Usability Engineer will work with internal and external development teams to deliver novel orthopedic digital surgery solutions.
Apply knowledge of systems engineering, human factors and user interaction design to optimize digital surgery workflows and user interfaces that ensure an exceptional user experience.
Work with a collaborative team to plan, execute and document all aspects of the usability engineering process.
Facilitate formative and summative usability evaluations.
Perform appropriate analysis to ensure the system architecture is safe and effective.
Generate and present technical material necessary for the comprehension and understanding of stakeholders and users at all levels.
One of the following combinations of education and experience is required: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Systems, Industrial, Human Factors, Mechanical or Electrical) or Equivalent Technical degree with 4 years of experience; A Master’s degree in Engineering (Systems, Industrial, Human Factors, Mechanical or Electrical) and 2 years of experience; A Doctorate degree and 1 year of experience (research experience included).
A minimum of 2 years Usability Engineering experience is required (this can include research/co-op/intern experience).
Experience applying FDA, ISO, AAMI, and other relevant medical device usability, design control and risk management regulations and standards is required.
Experience with User Interface design and prototyping tools is preferred.
Excellent communication and organization skills required.
Medical device product development experience required.
Experience designing orthopedic surgical systems, complex medical systems or digital surgical solutions highly desired.
Knowledge and experience performing human perception, cognition and anthropometric analysis preferred.
Demonstrated effectiveness in collaborating across organizational boundaries and multiple global locations highly preferred.
This position will be based in in Boston, Mansfield, or Raynham, MA or Warsaw, IN and may involve up to 15% domestic and international travel.
