RedHat Senior Technical Writer in Remote, Massachusetts
The Red Hat Customer Content Services team is looking for a Senior Technical Writer to join our Red Hat OpenShift Product Documentation team. In this role, you will join a team that promotes customer loyalty and success through content development and delivery. We create and are responsible for the user documentation and premium content that accompany Red Hat offerings, which will be made available online through Red Hat’s customer portal. You’ll work closely with developers, engineers, and other subject matter experts to create content that helps our customers successfully use our offerings and solutions. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
Primary job responsibilities
Work closely with content strategists, documentation program managers, engineering project teams, and other stakeholders to create and maintain high quality documentation for upcoming releases of Red Hat’s offerings
Address content gaps and promote continuous improvement of the Red Hat OpenShift documentation experience
Keep up to date on changes of our offerings, customer use cases, and support issues
Master the use of our internal documentation toolchain, including the publishing platform and issue-tracking tools
Work with Quality Engineering and Development teams to improve the accuracy of your documentation
Participate in customer feedback programs to ensure relevancy of our content
Devote time to research and understand the product as well as related trends
Experience with information architecture or 5-7 years of enterprise-level technical writing experience
Familiarity with Red Hat’s products and related industry offerings
Ability to collaborate in a global team environment, proactively engage subject matter experts, and follow through on commitments
Experience with agile and comfort with rapid iteration and fast delivery
Experience with modula or topic-based documentation
Experience in writing clear and concise procedural documentation for a technical audience
Experience and comfort with Git is a big plus
Familiarity with Linux and Kubernetes is a plus
