Kforce Director of Information Systems in Salem, Massachusetts

Kforce has a client in Salem, MA that is seeking a Director of Information Systems.Duties of the Director of Information Systems include: * Direct and manage the planning, development, integration and implementation of business intelligence based services and programs * Direct and manage the maintenance, training, and performance of the EMR * Act as main liaison between company and the IT support functions currently outsourced to a subcontractor team of IT professionals * Design and lead the long term vision of IT strategy; This includes, but is not limited to: Selection, adoption, and upkeep, of an EMR system(s) to use across all of our services; Selection, adoption, and upkeep, of Business Intelligence tools to support our data analytics needs; Selection of effective IT hardware/software/infrastructure platform to support both present and future needs of the organization * Lead interoperability initiatives that result in the seamless exchange of health care data to advance the care of patients in areas such as risk reduction through greater data exchange, decreased redundancy of services, and improved work flows and efficiencies * Advise department and senior leadership in the interpretation of data produced and recommend further analysis as needed and assist with questions or concerns over both internal and external data and reporting requirements * Designs and develops reporting and analysis tools using data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality to produce operational, financial and quality dashboards * Direct all maintenance and upgrades for all IT systems * Lead the training operations for all EMR functions and roles * Lead the troubleshooting for all EMR related outages and operations challenges in the field * Master's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Information Technology, or related field; In the absence of a Master's degree, a Bachelor's degree in the degree areas listed above with emphasis in finance, accounting or electronic data processing is required * A minimum of five years of experience directing and working in the technology space * At least three years of experience effectively managing personnel and leading teams is required * Good working knowledge of electronic medical records systems, including either GE Centricity or EPIC experience * Must be able to produce accurate, detailed results working under pressure and meeting deadlines * Skilled in database management, spreadsheets, and electronic medical record systems * Maintain a high level of confidentiality and comply with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act (HITECH), Massachusetts General Law 201 CMR 17.00, as well as other industry and state and national regulatory guidelines * Highly self-motivated and self-directed to work within a team and/or work independently * Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users * Ability to analyze, organize, delegate and make decisions * Provides excellent customer service to staff and external customers in a professional, service-oriented, respectful manner using skills in active listening and problem solving; Remains calm in stressful situations * Ability to travel to other sites for meetings and clinical coverage as needed is required Kforce is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
