Job Description

The Business Process Project Manager maintains responsibility for managing large-scale, complex new and existing strategic projects as well as business process initiatives with multi-functional & global core teams. This position will gather information by working collaboratively with the necessary Business Units and Corporate functional areas in the management of all levels on the implementation of strategic project initiatives as mandated by the GPMO; responsibilities include the planning of all project activities, synchronization of all Core Team activities and deliverables and the management of the overall project schedule, resource requirements, risk assessment and project investment analysis/budget. The incumbent is responsible for both directly and indirectly driving program execution and all associated efforts including management of third-party vendors (as needed). He/She will be responsible for aiding the team in the business case development and ensuring that the program activities meet internal and external customer requirements and follow GPMO Processes, including progress reporting and reviews by senior leadership.

Job Duties

  • Plan and execute complex large scale internal and external projects.

  • Plan and execute business initiatives (e.g. Go to Market)

  • Conduct business and process analysis as assigned.

  • Create Standard Operating Procedures for frequent Strategic projects.

  • Build team ownership and commitment to project and business plans and define project milestones, deliverables, and associated resource requirements.

  • Develop a team culture of continuous improvement and teamwork that strives to improve in quality, safety, delivery, and cost.

  • Proactively identify and assess areas of risk, escalate issues in a timely manner and proactively propose solutions.

  • Provide regular project updates (written and verbal) to appropriate management board, depending on type of project.

  • Conduct routine & highly effective team meetings to ensure accountability and milestone achievements.

  • Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve timely project outputs.

  • Manage cross-functional project teams providing direction and guidance as well as coaching and mentoring Core Team members as needed.

  • Provide input to functional directors/managers on team member performance.

  • Project planning and management responsibilities for all assigned projects; including development of a project charter, objectives, project plan and schedule.

  • Develop and manage budgets for the project including resource loading, external expenses and capital requirements.

  • Continuously prioritize team member activities (Core & Extended team and internal and external partners) Gains cooperation and commitment from people through influence, not authority.

  • Actively seek collaboration and builds relationships with internal customers and external partners to improve overall outcomes and timely project completion.

  • Perform all other essential duties as directed.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business or equivalent knowledge is required. MBA or advance degree is preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in project management preferably in the medical device industry.

  • Demonstrated experience in leading projects cross-functional teams including portfolio of successfully completed large-scale projects.

  • Up to 20% domestic/international travel is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • PMP certification is preferred.

  • Demonstrated planning and organizational skills with background and experience on project management principles, practices, techniques, and tools are necessary.

  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally.

  • Must be a self-starter with the initiative to follow through on programs/projects and work with all levels of users as well as the ability to coordinate efforts both inside and outside of the division.

  • Must be able to work independently and be self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency and drive for results.

  • Must be effective at dealing with change and ambiguity as business needs shift, demonstrating flexibility while ensuring compliance and managing stress well.

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be comfortable and adaptable presenting to different audiences and levels of the organization.

  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to operate effectively in a team environment is necessary.

  • Group facilitation, mediation, and conflict resolution skills are essential.

  • Ability to analyse complex problems, interpret operational needs, and develop integrated, creative solutions is desired.

  • Must be expert level user of Microsoft Project and be proficient in Excel, Power Point, Visio, and Word.
