The Digital Experience team, part of MassMutual’s Customer Experience organization, is comprised of collaborative, cross-functional, product-centric groups who like to have fun, challenge each other, and are energized to create innovative solutions that exceed the changing needs of our customers.
To help us achieve our mission, we are hiring a Digital Project Manager to work across multiple business areas supporting the Content Strategy and Platform Team. Projects for this role include the prioritization and implementation of initiatives across MassMutual.com and subdomains including new campaign work, product content, enhancements of current site content, and other key strategic initiatives and functionality. Knowledge of the technical and functional landscape behind web/digital platforms including database and system design, wireframes, CMS integration, e-commerce, usability, responsive design, user experience, SEO, and web analytics, is helpful.

Our ideal Digital Project Manager candidate is extremely organized and has a track record of successfully delivering digital projects within scope and on time. This role will be a subject matter expert within the organization in support of the Agile framework. This position requires the ability to facilitate and enable solutions in partnership with Product Owners, Product Design Team, Technical Team, Businesses Partners and Executive Management. This candidate is also team-oriented and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. With this flat leadership structure, there is opportunity for flexibility within this role and development into other areas across the organization.
Objectives of this role
Manage oversight of Content Strategy and Platform Team initiatives.
Manage the business relationships and guiding new/existing projects based on requirements from multiple teams.
Deliver initiatives on time and within scope, efficiently and effectively.
Participate in / champion ongoing project management and key business partner process improvements.
Daily and monthly responsibilities
Collaborate closely with the Digital Design, Product, LoB and multiple technology teams to understand the business goals and objectives and guide project execution.
Partner with team members, senior management and key stakeholders to define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business objectives.
Develop project plans, status documentation, and continuously communicate with design and development teams to ensure all teams are on task with projects and deadlines.
Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential risks, and devise contingency plans.
Ensure all deliverables (oftentimes complex/interdisciplinary/interlinked) are clearly specified, scoped and agreed between client and internal team(s).
Consistently adhere to company standards and best practices.
Participate in retrospectives and identify process improvements.
Serve as a single point of contact for project status & issue management.
Ensure the Content Team and business partners understand the project requirements and rationale.
Collaborate with key business partners including SEO and Analytics to ensure integration of each discipline into project delivery.
Provide thought leadership into the planning, design and implementation of programs and process.
Skills and qualifications
5+ years of project management experience working preferably with digital design teams.
Proficient in Agile methodologies with relation to digital development.
Experience effectively presenting complex information clearly and appropriately handling sensitive information.
Demonstrate effectiveness developing plans, prioritizing activities and driving execution.
Experience thriving in a fast-paced, collaborative, cross-disciplinary and geographically dispersed environment.
Extremely organized, detail-oriented individual who is capable of self-managing and multi-tasking in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence outcomes.
Blend of technical and business acumen; comfortable learning new technologies.
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Finance, Business or related field required.
Authorized to work in the United States with or without sponsorship.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills,
Makes decisions and drives business initiatives forward in the face of ambiguity.
Holds self and others accountable for achieving results.
Proven ability to hold open, candid and transparent critical conversations at all levels.
Experience at both a design studio and a large corporate environment.
Strong customer and user experience advocate with a passion for digital and unafraid to challenge status quo.
Experience with CMS, JIRA, Onsite Search and SEO best practices a plus.
Experience working with cross functional teams in the Financial Services or Insurance Industries.
Experience with analytics platforms, tagging and the resulting reporting.
Experience with Google Analytics, Looker analytics tool and Tealium tagging is a plus.
Proven track record of successfully delivering digital products for companies in the Financial Services or Insurance industries.
