Baystate Health Director, HRIS in Springfield, Massachusetts
The Director, HRIS is the system owner of Workday and other HR technology systems with areas of responsibility includes HR Operations and HR Compliance. The role is both strategic and operational and is responsible for acting as an escalation point for challenging problems, as well as designing, implementing, and optimizing processes and programs between Baystate Health HR and various key stakeholder groups and end users.

Summary:
The Director, HRIS develops a strategic and tactical Human Resources Technology plan that is responsive to the goals and objectives of the Human Resource division and the Baystate Health enterprise. Manage through a governance structure the design process involving system configuration and re-configuration, data elements, input/output requirements, reporting mechanisms, security assignments and related issues. Ensure that adequate testing is performed and make recommendations on various phases of system installation and new releases that will support the delivery of exceptional HR services and programs across the organization.
The Director is responsible for the development of robust communications and training programs to maximize adoption, self-service and system effectiveness. Provide technical guidance to HR and Payroll Users in daily use of software packages and features. Oversee people processes and controls; identify gaps and inefficiencies, provide standardization and improvement recommendations which will impact the full employee lifecycle.
Collaborate with I&T and payroll staff to identify and resolve system software design problems and contact appropriate vendors to determine appropriate solutions. Ensure HRIS system software maintenance is completed and update to date as well as recommend procedural enhancements as appropriate.
Job Responsibilities:
Directs the work of HRIS analyst staff and training team and creates a culture of cross training and continual improvement.
Design, develop, test and direct on-going administration of Workday including upgrades and new module purchases, and implementation plans including ongoing management of prioritization of Jira’s.
Act as Security Administrator, and work through a governance team to ensure proper security design and deployment to safeguard the system and data while maximizing functionality and self-service.
Maintain state-of-the-art knowledge of the HRIS system and ensure that HR and Payroll procedures manuals including security design and deployments are documented.
Ensure the Workday security structure and organizational hierarchy is up to date and maintained for smooth workflow and accurate approval processes.
Manage the short- and long-term HR Technology strategies.
Coordinate all HR technology plans and projects including but not limited to, vendor demos, selection process, implementation, and upgrade/new release timeframes within the HR division. Collaborate with HR and Payroll leaders to ensure input to priority setting for the HRIS deliverables.
Leads, plans, and develops the agendas for the routine collaborative HRIS meetings to ensure the timely achievement of goals and objectives.
Produces project plans and manages multiple projects simultaneously and under tight deadlines.
Ensures service levels and overall contribution of HR Operations, Analytics & Reporting meets or exceeds expectations on agreed goals. Establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) & Service Line Agreements (SLAs) to oversee management across the functions.
Partners with the Director, Workforce Analytics, Planning and Development to develop an HR Analytics & Reporting program within HR and across the business; play a lead role in driving effective data management & architecture framework.
Comply with internal and external auditing policies and procedures as well as with any and all state and federal regulations as they pertain to HRIS systems and data.
Develop and manage HR metrics to measure the effectiveness of HR programs and initiatives and produce HR performance dashboard and KPI reports.
Assign and oversee the development of ad hoc reports to HRIS analysts as appropriate.
Collaborates with key stake holders include the Director, Workforce Analytics, Planning and Development as well as the HRBP team members and other HR division leaders, Payroll colleagues and workstream owners. Ensures reporting is automated where possible and leverages self-service technology.
In collaboration with the Director, Employee Relations and Compliance oversees state and federal reports such for EEO, wages, worker compensation audits purposes and ensure the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date employee records and data.
Oversee the design and development of programs and materials to be used for training of HR staff, all levels of Baystate Health management, and individual contributors.
Focus on risk management, including the development and maintenance of strong process controls while ensuring that all HR Operational processes are aligned with regulatory, risk, and compliance.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Baccalaureate degree required and Master preferred
5+ years HRIS management or senior level Workday consulting
Demonstrated programmatic systems experience with the current HRIS system (Workday) as well as implementation experience of HR applications.
Integration expertise with Kronos/UKG and healthcare experience are a plus.
Ideal capabilities and competencies include a strong foundation in HR operations, technical expertise in HRIS (Workday),
