Springfield Public Schools is looking for a highly motivated Accountability Program Specialist to join the Finance Team! As Accountability Program Specialist, you will take part in all aspects of accounting for meals served to the students of the Springfield Public Schools.
Overall, the Accountability Program Specialist will:
Work with the accountability staff members and the classroom teachers to provide necessary training regarding set up and monitoring of the breakfast, lunch, snack, and dinner programs.
Assist in on site audits in the schools for all food programs served to assure proper meal patterns are being provided per the DESE regulations.
Monthly involvement in training the accountability staff to document any issues or concerns on check list as they arise.
Setup record-keeping process for accountability staff.
Review accountability documentation for all sites monthly.
Follow up with classrooms that are deficient regularly until program is successful.
Office meal count data entry from Newton and Edison to Sodexo UFS program.
Understanding of what constitutes a reimbursable meal per the State guidelines. complete reimbursable meal.
Report to Finance Management any ongoing issues with program compliance.
Report to Chef Managers any discrepancies in their area of responsibility, work on action plans as needed.
Fill any vacant accountability positions for breakfast service
Newton (POS) training / support / assist with IT issues daily
Ensure all safety initiatives are adhered to and staff in kitchens are using appropriate safety equipment i.e., back belts, proper use of carts, proper lifting techniques when delivering BIC - Breakfast In Class bags to classrooms upstairs, cutting gloves, etc.
Rotating staffing of the Breakfast in the Classroom Help Desk at the CNC.
Must be able to travel around the District to train, support, and help solve any on site needs daily.
Any other duties assigned by management.
