MassMutual Project Manager in Springfield, Massachusetts

To help us achieve our mission, we are hiring a Project Manager to join our team.

You will have a strong working relationship and collaborate with DX leadership and CFO partners, serving as the single point of contact for all budget and vendor process related work. You will also demonstrate strong business and financial acumen and exercise stewardship of direct spend to help our organization meet its financial goals. You will also be able to lead broad scope Agile projects that have medium to long-term focus of varying duration, size, and complexity. Daily and monthly responsibilities:

  • Perform and communicate financial analysis, collaborating with co-workers, DX Leadership and CFO partners

  • Review forecast and initiative assumptions and cost-benefit analyses to contribute to decision making, including prioritization, in order to pursue the most beneficial initiatives and maximize benefits

  • Analyze, develop and communicate the story behind the business results, drivers, standard ratios, unit costs, other metrics, etc

  • Analyze overall budget, software expenses, FTE expense

  • Liaison regularly with Finance on capitalization process and updates

  • Calculate monthly accruals

  • Reforecasting budget

  • Lead DX software capitalization process and coordination

  • Build familiarity with business channels and of corporate units

  • Use strong business acumen and communication skills to draft and contribute to commentary which enables readers to quickly understand how performance is impacting financial results

  • Use communication and collaboration skills to support the implementation of the target operating model, including tailoring change management efforts to budget needs

  • Meeting with Team Leads to facilitate the vendor approval/procurement process

  • Support internal leadership and supplier relationship managers for all stages in the vendor lifecycle (this includes new vendor, renewal, termination)

  • Liaison between internal and external business partners for vendor and initiative governance processes

  • Lead broad scope projects that have medium to long-term focus of varying duration, size, and complexity

  • Navigate ambiguity to deliver results

  • Demonstrate eagerness and follow through to drive a variety of projects across multiple disciplines

Basic Knowledge and Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years experience working in large, sophisticated corporate environment providing financial support on business related matters

  • Ability to communicate with all level of employees in an inclusive manner

  • Demonstrate proven capability to be organized yet flexible/adaptable

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively present complex information clearly and appropriately handle sensitive information.

  • Ability to partner with and influence business leaders and peers in using financial information and tools to identify options and make decisions

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States, without requiring sponsorship, both now and in the future

Preferred Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree required (Business major or related preference).

  • Preferred experience working with and supporting several corporate units.

  • Experience working in a mature agile environment.

  • Holds self and others accountable for achieving results.

  • Experience working with cross functional teams in the Financial Services or Insurance Industries.

  • Proven track record of successfully delivering digital products for companies in the Financial Services or Insurance industries.

  • Proven ability to hold open, candid and transparent critical conversations at all levels.

  • Courageous, with demonstrated ability to impact and influence senior leaders/peers and vendor relationships.

  • Intellectual curiosity to continue learning and adding breadth and depth to understanding.
