A professional whose focus of analysis and problem solving relates to data, types of data, and relationships among data elements within a business system. Has the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy. Has knowledge and technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques.


  • Coordinate with customers and staff and provide support for requested data analysis.

  • Data acquisition and preparation data from various data sources.

  • Perform data analysis (identify, analyze, and interpret trends, patterns, forecasts, or correlations in datasets) on all results and prepare presentations or facilitate delivery for business partners.

  • Design and create data reports to aid in providing solutions and/or conclusions to business partners in their decision-making.

  • Coordinate with internal data teams and business customers to ensure accuracy on all deliverables and prepare summaries.

  • Monitor and organize all client requests and perform all timely assessment for all data/analysis requests.

  • Administer request intake and provide metrics on performance and timeliness.

  • Document delivery structures created by team and prepare for transition to data/report development teams if required.

  • Perform internal audit of all delivery structures and determine quality improvement processes.

  • Escalate issues to appropriate resources when required.


  • Fundamental understanding of database structures (schemas, tables, queries, procedures, functions, etc.) and design (Relational (3NF), Dimensional.

  • Ability to perform multiple source data extracts with simple data transformations.

  • Ability to interpret requirements into meaning insights with little guidance.

  • Ability to produce/deliver results through Business Intelligence tools.

  • Identification/development of key performance indicators applicable to analysis.

  • Ability to convey conclusions and drive customer decisions.

  • Ability to profile, categorize, and analyze quality of data.

  • Can derive meaning insights through visualizations.

  • Monitor and organize all client requests and perform all timely assessment for all data/analysis requests.

  • Can build standard and complex SQL (Standard Query Language) queries with little to no assistance.

  • Can build or revise simple Visual Basic for application scripts.

  • Working knowledge of Multi-dimensional Expressions (MDX) language with ability to write simple queries.

  • Intermediate user of Microsoft Office, Microsoft OneNote and Microsoft Visio

  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future


  • Intermediate working knowledge of Teradata and Microsoft SQL Server

  • Intermediate user of Tableau Desktop Client

  • Expert user of Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio, Alteryx Designer and Teradata SQL Assistant / Teradata Studio

  • Knowledge of COGNOS Analytics

  • Good working knowledge of products and services provided by business/company.

  • 10+ yrs. in related analytical field with hands on IT experience.

  • 7+ yrs. experience with a programming language. SQL preferred.

  • 7+ yrs. experience with relational database systems (RDMS). Teradata & MS SQL Server preferred.

  • Knowledge of programming languages a plus, but not required.

  • Experience with other databases (SYBASE, PostgreSQL, Vertica, etc..) a plus

  • B.S., B.A., or M.S. in any of the following:
