Covenant Health ACUTE CLINICAL SOFTWARE TRAINER in Tewksbury, Massachusetts

JOB SUMMARY

The Software Trainer - Clinical is primarily responsible for conducting training for all local facility end users on the assigned CareLink application(s). The training will be primarily based at Covenant facilities, and will be conducted in the classroom as well as in the areas of practice. The end users will be both clinical and non-clinical. The Software Trainer - Clinical will be assigned to specific application(s) included in the application suite and will be held accountable for achieving an in-depth understanding of the software, policies and procedures, and all related workflows. The Software Trainer - Clinical is a member of CareLink Project Team and actively participates in discussions regarding building, testing, and maintaining the training environment, as well as the development and maintenance of training materials for the training program. The Software Trainer - Clinical will support the Enterprise Project Team in technological competency assessments across Covenant. In addition to training end-users within the facility, at the direction of Training Leadership, the Software Trainer - Clinical will also train additional trainers within the organization, maintain policy/procedure documentation, provide training for new hires, and conduct training for new software releases and updates.

The Software Trainer - Clinical will assist with alignment of all application training activities with cultural and clinical transformation objectives. The incumbent will identify and help manage resistance to change as related to their respective application(s) of responsibility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities of the position are to be carried out in a manner that is consistent with the mission, values and operating principles of Covenant, and in-line with the organization's Code of Conduct.

The Software Trainer - Clinical is a dedicated training resource for their respective application(s). In addition to the duties discussed above, the incumbent is responsible for the following:

  • Assists with the development of detailed curriculum content

  • Assists with coordinating appropriate level of end user training

  • Conducting training for specific application area(s) for all end users

  • Assisting in technology competency assessments

  • Assisting with scenario based training

  • Completing project tasks within timeline as assigned by Training Coordinator or Training Managers

  • Providing end user feedback to Application Coordinators and identifying improvement strategies for system design and implementation

  • Interacting as necessary with vendor training personnel

  • Escalating issues which cannot be resolved by the assigned work group immediately to Training Coordinator or Training Manager

  • Working closely with Enterprise and local system teams

  • Assisting Training Coordinator with training plan for designated area(s)

  • Assisting Training Coordinator with coordination of local Credentialed Trainers and Super Users

  • Other duties as assigned

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    Education and Experience:

    The incumbent must be flexible, highly collaborative and consistently work to fill gaps and avoid overlaps in local system activities. A key requirement for the incumbent is to continuously listen, react and suggest ways to complement or assist the work of others. The ideal manifestation of the role is when all involved parties seek out the incumbent as an expert resource and thought partner, which will ensure that the work is fluid and relevant to current issues.

    Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college. Candidates who do not meet this requirement may be considered if they have achieved applicable certifications and/or requisite work experience in training.

  • Registered Nurse (RN)

  • Experience developing and conducting training in adult education environment.

  • Experience with EMR or clinical software implementations; specifically with training of staff or providers.

  • Strong presentation skills.

  • Stand-up ADULT classroom training

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, email, intranet, internet, and other systems

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with implementing clinical information systems and/or large-scale and complex standardization and implementation of an electronic health record is highly desirable

  • Experience in Epic installations
