The System Design & Architecture (SD&A) Directorate is the central focus for Mission Systems Integration activities within RMD, responsible for defining customer needs, functional and product architecture, requirements definition and decomposition, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), system performance, and System Security Engineering (SSE).
The Sensor Product Line is seeking a highly skilled Sr. Principal Systems Engineer to lead development of a high fidelity simulation to support the Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Systems Engineering Team. In this role, the selected candidate will be responsible for supervising the development and maintenance of a MATLAB-based signal processing prototype, which is utilized for systems analysis, concept development, requirements development, design, implementation, and integration and verification. This position can be located in either Tewksbury, MA or Marlborough, MA.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:
Oversee a moderate size team of engineers in the development of a MATLAB-based signal processing prototype, used to assess DSP algorithms for advanced radar systems across all mission areas
Perform statistical modeling of the radar DSP systems and analyze performance against the system requirements
Interface with subject matter experts to perform array scaling activities and performance assessment of radar modular assembly (RMA) based systems
Analyze user requirements, concept of operations documents, and high level system architectures to develop system specifications and design
Lead deployment, enhancement, and maintenance of a signal processing data playback tool used for integration support across all Sensor Product Line programs
This position requires daily on site support and is not open to remote possibilities
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 10 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and 7 years of prior relevant experience.
Systems Engineering experience on DoD systems
Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Value:
An active and in-scope Secret US security clearance
Masters/PhD in a STEM field
Experience working on naval-based radars
Experience working within the digital signal processing discipline for complex DoD Systems
Experience with radar system software issue resolution in support of integration and test activities
Significant experience with MATAB
Excellent written and oral communication skills
