As a Cloud Program Lead (Principal Information Systems Technologist) on our Program Cloud Solutions team you’ll use your cloud and broad IT experience to implement cloud solutions as part of the complete range of IT capabilities delivered to the program. You will manage all IT activities related to the program and ensure the support of multiple IT groups is coordinated and integrated. You will be assigned to programs where cloud success is critical because of cost, schedule, performance, or other concerns and specific cloud expertise is required for the Program Lead in addition to normal skills. You may also lead specific cloud implementation initiatives as part of a larger program IT team. In this role, your responsibilities will include: Identifying new opportunities for using cloud services and infrastructure to improve IT to reduce program cost or schedule Hands-on design and implementation of cloud solutions in programs with the assistance of cloud technical specialists. Hands-on work in other IT disciplines may be required as a key member of a (sometimes) small program IT team. Working closely onsite with embedded program Systems Administrators and other IT groups to execute all IT scope in one or more programs Financial and schedule management, including procurement, for all IT scope on a specific program. On some programs, the IT cloud program lead will be assigned IPT (integrated product team) or CAM (cost account manager) duties and manage scope beyond IT. Developing business cases and risk analysis for Cloud services, and presenting this information to program management, along with bid metrics for customer proposals. Joining with the rest of the Cloud Solutions team to collaborate on best practices for cloud-enabled environments, developer workflows and DevOps pipelines. This position will need a U.S. DOD Security Clearance within 1 year of start date. Except in rare cases, only US Citizens are eligible to obtain a US DOD Clearance. Note - Capped budget relocation is available to the selected applicant if they are eligible per company policy. Required Skills: 8+ years’ experience in one or more IT disciplines (e.g. system administration, networking, service management) 2+ years’ experience with cloud technologies such as VMWare, Amazon Web Services, Azure 2+ years’ experience on major infrastructure or applications projects Experience creating technical documentation, such as writing technical implementation guides Experience with IT-specific financial management such as budgeting, software license analysis, IT service management Security+ certification or willingness to obtain one within 6 months of employment Ability to obtain a US DOD Secret Clearance within one year of Start date. Desired Skills: Experience with public Cloud implementations, e.g. AWS, Azure Experience briefing senior leadership on technical issues Proposal experience Experience scripting in languages such as Ruby, Powershell, BASH or Python Experience with build tools, CI/CD and DevOps 2+ years’ hands on experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Chef, Ansible or Puppet Familiarity with high performance computing technologies Familiarity with DoD security configuration requirements, hardening procedures and settings Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Science, Mathematics or a Technical Discipline OR Significant applicable professional experience in a related field in lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree.
