Thermo Fisher Scientific Director, Business Transformation in Tewksbury, Massachusetts

Job Description

Located at one of the larger Thermo Fisher Scientific offices in Franklin or Tewksbury MA, you will be in the heart of the division leadership team running our $800M scientific instruments division.

How will you make an impact?

You will drive best practices into our critical business processes creating transformational improvements in performance. Your knowledge in Logistics/Operation, Customer Service or Finance/Back Office innovations and professional project management skills will create a top performing organization.

What will you do?

  • Drive a portfolio of transformational projects, ensuring expected benefits are achieved

  • Partner with stakeholders to determine best practice solutions drawing on your knowledge of industry innovations

  • Champion the process in your area, leading the organization on a journey to outperform our competitors

How will you get here?

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent work experience.

  • 5-8 years in a business transformation/process improvement role at a large multi-national enterprise

  • Demonstrated experience in managing and delivering large projects in the operations/ supply chain space

  • Experience working in IT business systems like SAP, SFDC a plus

  • Professional certification in area of expertise like APICS, PMI a plus

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Comprehensive industry knowledge of key processes like MRP, VMI, Kanban and when to use one model over another

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into operational requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and become expert in business processes

  • Expert level project management & change management skills, experience working in a PMO framework

  • Ability to create a business case and manage benefits through the life cycle into steady state

  • Strong interpersonal skills, excellent documentation skills

  • Ability to communicate and champion complex or technical concepts to a broad audience

Travel: The role will require global travel, estimated at 25-40% depending on the projects.
