Raytheon Electrical Engineer I or II - Test Development in Tewksbury, Massachusetts

Opportunities currently exist within EDD’s Test Development Department (TDD) for a test equipment design engineer. The primary responsibilities are the development, implementation, and integration of test capabilities utilizing test equipment hardware and software technologies. This is an excellent position for a test equipment design engineer who has experience in a variety of technologies (digital, analog, RF, and/or power supply test) and a desire to apply those skills in a combination of hardware and/or software test solutions. You will be joining a diverse project team whose goal is to design, develop, and integrate test equipment and test solutions for systems, sub-systems, and components of the various programs (radar, sonar, communication, missile, and combat control systems) within Raytheon’s Integrated Defense Systems (IDS). These products can contain a variety of hardware and software technologies; for example: digital, analog, RF, microwave, acoustic, high power, embedded firmware, signal processing, VHDL, etc. Test equipment design engineers can be involved in all aspects of prime product design, verification, and production by providing a variety of test equipment hardware and software support. We provide solutions to provide stimulus and response measurement environments to verify functional performance. Our test solutions can include the following technologies: hardware in the loop, custom automatic test stations, commercial automatic test stations, common test stations with automation, high power, mixed-signal, digital, RF, environmental stress screening systems, mechanical holding fixtures, adapters, and interface cabling and harnessing. Required Skills: B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering; B.S. in Electronic Engineering Technology 1+ year experience in engineering design and development with exposure to test equipment design and development U.S. citizenship required for purposes of obtaining a security clearance Desired Skills: CMMI and 6 sigma experience Strong interpersonal and communication skills Good decision-making and problem-solving skills Ability to work as a member of a team Digital, Analog, RF, and/or Power Supply test hardware and/or software design experience with use of commercial test and measurement equipment VXI / VME / MXI / PXI / CompactPCI application development Use of commercial test and measurement equipment VHDL and embedded system design knowledge Software applications / programming skills Experience with National Instruments TestStand, LabWindows/CVI, and/or LabVIEW Required Education: B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering; B.S. in Electronic Engineering Technology 129794BR 129794
