The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies. Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes. IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.

SCOPE/PURPOSE OF POSITION: Sr. IT Business Analyst, Commercial will work closely with business teams to deliver quality IT solutions in commercial applications space including SalesForce, SAP Hybris, Microsoft BI and other related web technologies. This candidate will engage the business teams to gain in-depth understanding of business processes and be able to document them both in written and in visual forms like process flows. He/she will have a strong understanding of web technology trends and willing to explore new capability to support business needs.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with business teams to provide technical solutions (including out-of-the-box solutions) to complex business needs

  • Develop a strong understanding of commercial business processes including - Customer Experience, Sales, Marketing and Pricing

  • Act as a BA for projects and gather business requirements, create business process flows, and solution design documents

  • Act as a liaison and work with IT technical and business functional teams to ensure successful delivery of projects.

  • Develop test cases and plans with business teams, coordinate and ensure success of testing activities. • Communicate with business and IT teams on status of projects and enhancements.

  • Conceive, design and/or develop Proof of Concept of new capability to demonstrate business value

  • Keep up with current industry trends in technology and demonstrate expertise in supported applications

  • Focus on continuous improvement and identify opportunities to deliver business benefit through technology.

  • Maintain knowledge of current commercial and marketing industry trends and identify ways to apply learnings to business problems

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: BA/BS Degree in Business, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related subject

WORK EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years overall work experience as IT or Business Analyst

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • 1-3 years experience in developing applications for one or more of Web, Collaboration or CRM technology areas like i) SalesForce.Com, SAP Hybris, SharePoint, ASP.Net or other related web technologies

  • Demonstrated ability to lead business requirements gathering, business process analysis, data analysis efforts. • Self-motivated and results oriented mindset with experience in project management, software and application development methodologies

  • Ability to learn new technologies and grow technical skills

  • Able to work in a multi-functional and globally diverse organization

  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • SFDC Certification and solid understanding of the platform and its architecture

  • Hands-on development experience with SFDC (Apex, Visual Force pages design, Triggers etc) or other Web application technologies

  • Strong understanding of environment management, release management, code versioning best practices and deployment methodologies

  • Effective leadership, organization, and planning skills, with ability to handle changing priorities

  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies
