The Senior Technical Support Specialist provides support to field engineers, and clients in diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing and debugging highly complex hardware, software or satellite networking equipment problems associated with computer, TV, and printer equipment. Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and selects methods and techniques for problem resolution. This is a senior level position that works under broad direction of a manager. Responsibilities

  • Provides high level system support and maintenance

  • Consults with technical staff members to proactively address potential technical problems, identify technical deficiencies and recommend solutions.

  • Gathers information for problem definition, duplication and resolution and acts as a focal point in the coordination of technical resources.

  • Records, tracks, escalates and updates calls through established tracking systems.

  • Prepares and manages project plans.

  • Provides technical support to Field Technicians, Sales and Program Management teams.

  • Provides training and work/technical leadership to less experienced specialists.

  • May assign work to other team members as necessary to accomplish team goals

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and 4-7 years of relevant experience, or additional education with less experience

  • Knowledge of relevant technical software Skills

  • Excellent analytical skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)

  • Knowledge of relevant technical software

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Must have excellent oral communication, written and presentation skills

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks

  • Some travel may be required

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Strong customer service skills

  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently

  • Ability to be part of a stand-by rotation after hours
