Technical Staff Data Management Technologist

What you’ll achieve

As a Technical Staff Data Management Technologist you will be responsible for innovating across a broad array of areas that collectively comprise Dell’s Data Management Platform with an initial focus on identifying innovative ways to leverage existing footprint of Dell Technologies’ products and offerings in customer accounts to accelerate and simplify data discovery and metadata management.

You will work closely with the Data Management Product Management and Architecture teams to drive the research, incubation, positioning and adoption of upcoming Technology, Architecture, and Innovation necessary to craft Dell’s next-generation Data Management offering.

You Will

  • Work closely with Data Protection and Storage teams to influence architecture and roadmaps in support of Data Management requirements on those products

  • Integrate various open-source and internal technologies

  • Conceptualize and create POCs of various product integrations, solutions and approaches relevant onto our data management platform

  • Generate IP including multiple invention disclosures per year and patent filings

  • Provide mentoring and leadership in the Dell technical community

Essential Requirements

Expert level of knowledge or capability in many of the following areas:

  • Excellent understanding of how to connect and integrate with various DB technologies including SQL, Oracle, NoSQL, Postgres to extract schema and other information from within. Good understanding of traditional data warehouses and ETL

  • Ability to interact with and influence product managers and architects withing Dell’s Storage and Data Protection teams

  • Strong technical background with the ability to integrate with various APIs

  • Ability to create a strategic technical vision and drive product teams to deliver upon that vision. Good working knowledge of Dell’s Data Protection offerings

  • Good understanding of storage-based snapshotting and data replication technologies Experience with big data analytics and data-lake based solutions

Desirable Requirements

  • 15+ years of related experience in a professional role with a Bachelor’s degree; or 12+ years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 8+ years’ experience; or equivalent experience
