Title: Desktop Support Technician - Contract to Permanent*

Reports to: Associate Director of IT
ElevateBio is looking for a Desktop Support Technician to join our growing team located at our beautiful new Waltham facility. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with solid IT experiences and great customer service skills. We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running and get things done quickly and correctly. This is a contract position that may lead to a permanent position in the future. You will be spending most of your time at our site in Waltham, but there will be some travel to our Cambridge office when the need arises.

Here?s What You?ll Do:
Assist employees with installation, configuration and troubleshooting laptops, desktop computers, peripheral equipment, printers, software applications, WiFi and Webex
Document and resolve all level one helpdesk tickets in a timely manner
Assist employees at their desks, in the labs and remotely using remote desktop software
Manage and meticulously document employee hardware and software license usage
Setup IT hardware at employee?s desks and in the labs
Setup user accounts and VPN access
Maintain passwords, data integrity and file system security for the computing environment
Interact with vendor support contacts to resolve technical problems with computing equipment and software
Support in testing and deployment of new applications and systems
Obtain hardware and software quotes. Create purchase requisitions
Train and guide staff on hardware, software and Webex as needed
Excellent customer service, communication skills and attention to detail are musts
Must be a team player and willing to work ?outside your box? to get things done as needed
Experience working in an IT Helpdesk environment
Experience with Microsoft Windows Professional and Server
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
Experience configuring and troubleshooting laptop and desktop computers
Understanding of TCP/IP and basic networking skills
Bachelors/Associate degree or equivalent experience
Webex or Apple Mac experience is a plus
IT experience in a Biotech GxP facility is a plus
