How will you make an impact?
The Director, HR Technology Services – Program Delivery and M&A role is a meaningful role within the Corporate Solutions and Integrations, IT Shared Services organization at Thermo Fisher Scientific. Reporting to the Sr. Director of HR Technology Services, this individual will be a key member of the HRTS leadership team, responsible for project oversight, program delivery, M&A activities, and general system enhancements in support of HR’s priorities and goals.
The director will lead a global team of analysts, administrators, and project managers passionate about critical initiatives, improving HR system and business capability, new systems evaluations, new functionality, innovation, automation and overall value realization for HR and IT. S/He will partner with HR and other partners to help design and deliver the technology strategy and roadmap. S/He will help transform the organization to be more elastic and to deliver speed at scale.
What will you do?
Accountability for all Corporate HR application enhancements, projects and programs
Responsible for oversight/governance of the HR technology portfolio of projects
Support the short and long-term IT strategy and service delivery models
Partner with HR and other stakeholders to design and deliver against the HR Technology roadmap. Enable HR to execute on its strategic projects and goal tree initiatives.
Develop a dynamic team focused on strategic initiatives, enhancing capability, new systems and new functionality
Build a resilient and elastic team able to flex with shifting demand across the HR application ecosystem
Responsible for shaping the M&A strategy and supervising execution
Build team member capabilities through rigorous objective setting, clear roles and responsibilities, frequent feedback, and cultivation of an environment of accountability.
How will you get here?
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).
3+ years of business partnership experience with exposure to Sr. Management
7+ years of HR Technology, and/or Projects/Programs experience within a global, matrix organization.
Strong knowledge of, and experience with applications that support HR Systems: Core HR, compensation, benefits, talent acquisition, talent management (e.g., performance management, succession planning), learning management, payroll, time & attendance
Experience working with ERP HR systems (e.g. Workday, SAP etc.) as well as business intelligence and reporting tools (e.g., COGNOS, OBIEE) and 3rd party applications/SAAS. Strong Workday experience is preferred.
Experience working with Service Now and/or related technologies. Experience with SAAS solutions to enable HR efficiency is preferred.
Experience leading Learning Management solutions with a distributed administration model.
Outstanding people leader with the ability to attract and retain high talent.
Experience in resolving sophisticated business, systems, data, and program delivery challenges
Creative problem solver with strong collaborative leadership ability to enable solid business partnership
Good interpersonal and organizational skills and an ability to communicate effectively with technical & non-technical partners (at all levels)
Demonstrable ability to lead and work with large multi-functional teams across time zones, including a track record of successful program delivery using agile, waterfall, and/or hybrid approaches.
Cross-cultural sensitivity and fully understand and adopt Thermo Fisher values and leadership model in daily management work.
Good mix of technical and business background. Positive, collaborative and solution-oriented demeanor.
Excellent knowledge of HR and IT solutions, new technologies and emerging trends.
