Wolters Kluwer Director, Product Management - Software in Waltham, Massachusetts

The Director, Product Management is responsible for TeamMate’s audit product software. Ultimately, she/he will be responsible for the delivery of complete Go-to Market and strategic product roadmap plans and the outcomes of new and renewal Sales, Revenues, that meet our EBITA goals.

This strategic role will participate in and leads specific strategic planning for the TeamMate’s software and portfolio initiatives including annual, periodic, and three-year VSP planning processes. As an influential leader within the TeamMate Leadership team, the role reports to the Executive Vice President and GM of TeamMate and collaborates with external and internal stakeholders to identify and develop strategic business and product development opportunities that benefit customers and shareholders.

Responsible for customer-centric strategic planning for all product development and product roadmaps as well as oversight, management and control of all product development stages, processes and deliverables for TeamMate. Directs the work of Product Managers and Product Owners execute comprehensive product commercialization plans, while also partnering directly with Developers for buildout.

Essential Duties and responsibilities:

  • Drives customer focused product and platform development; conducts customer centric research/needs assessment and contextual inquiry to guide the development of product and service concepts that solve stated customer problems and needs, develops requirements that detail the feature/function and commercial aspects of the product, develops new products and product enhancements (content, services, features, functions and offers), develops new product platforms and enhances existing platforms, while keeping current on market trends and direct and indirect competitor landscape

  • Directs and supports all strategic and tactical aspects of commercialization, business case development and go-to-market planning and execution including; customer based design methodology, product definition and concept development, target markets and segmentation, positioning, value propositions and offers, pricing, sales readiness and promotions, customer and prospect messaging, customer migration planning, competitive analysis and implication assessment, product set up in SAP, post-release tracking and financial reporting, customer invoicing and retention programs and processes, ensuring all product development processes and controls are followed

  • Manages the overall P&L of TeamMate’s product portfolio to deliver annual financial targets

  • Determines metrics of success, tracks, and analyzes product and promotion profitability and develops course corrections as needed, including regular review of Sales performance and revenue, win-loss analysis, review of expense budgets including GBS/GPO proposals and charges, and retention analysis/tracking

  • Provides strategic vision, guidance, talent development, coaching and mentoring, to lead through transformation of evolving product management organization to create high performing, highly collaborative, commercially focused team

Job Qualifications:


Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field

MBA preferred


10+ years of Product Management experience

Working experience required:

  • Proven track record delivering a “cloud native” product to market

  • A track record of driving innovation and results in a fast-paced, high-growth environment

  • B2B Enterprise application software and information services industries

  • Audit and domain experience (Internal Audit or GRC experience a plus)

Other Knowledge, Skills, Abilities or Certifications:

  • A strong leader with outstanding leadership, people, and process management skills.

  • Outstanding planning (strategic and tactical), negotiation and execution skills

  • A successful track record in successful cloud product development, execution, and commercialization

  • Experience delivering a consumer like customer experience in a B2B environment

  • Keen ability to assess, analyze and decide in complex situations

  • Practitioner level of understanding of product management framework and best practices

  • Ability to understand business strategy and translate it into market solutions

  • Attention to detail, combined with the ability to comprehend the big picture

  • Proven team leadership, project management, and group facilitation skills

  • Detail-oriented and possess excellent oral, written, and organizational skills

  • Has a strong can-do attitude and can build relationships with stakeholders both horizontally and vertically across the organization
