How Will You Make An Impact?

The ERP IT Sr. Manager of Finance provides vision and leadership to the Global Finance Team. This role is responsible for project, enhancement and support delivery for the ERP systems. The ERP IT Sr. Manager of Finance will work in a fast-paced environment with a variety of internal teams and external vendors to drive delivery throughout the organization. This position will also oversee the support activities, manage resources/vendors and budget to ensure successful delivery in a cost-effective way. In addition to managing a team, this position will also be hands on for delivery.

What Will You Do?

  • Manage and develop a global team of highly skilled ERP systems analysts, including setting annual performance goals, developing career plans and ensuring the team is highly motivated

  • Advise and provide recommendations to C-level decision makers regarding SAP standards

  • Initiate activities to improve quality and delivery speed across the organization

  • Become a functional authority within the organization

  • Lead, debate, and communicate with key decision makers internally and externally; serve as mentor

  • Exercise latitude in determining approaches to critical assignments; work on issues that impact future strategic needs and technology

  • Maintain and use contacts throughout the organization, industry, and other professional organizations to improve the ERP for Thermo Fisher Scientific

  • Support projects of critical importance; provide leadership and guidance to global project teams for planning, building, and delivery

  • Define and track support metrics, including KPI’s and dashboards

  • Oversee the functional delivery and overall support of ERP including resource management

  • Actively participate in Major Incident Management (MIM) calls and Post-Mortem Reviews

How Will You Get Here?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business Management, Project Management, Management Information Systems or equivalent work experience acceptable.

  • Minimum of 10 years of SAP/E1 Project Execution/ management experience

  • 5+ years directly leading global SAP/E1 teams (15+ resources)

  • Demonstrated experience with project management/Agile delivery / ITIL in a regulated environment

  • Expertise in software delivery best practices

  • Experience with implementing Dashboards, KPI implementation to report out on support activities

  • Experience in working with multiple vendors to fulfill resourcing needs

Tool & Technology Skills

  • S4 Hana, Oracle E1 implementation experience

  • Agile DevOps experience

  • Ability to set expectations, explain and champion detailed technical concepts to peers, management and business partners

  • Ability to translate details into specific tasks needed to accomplish a task or solve a problem

  • Excellent customer service skills required

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, including ability to communicate information to both technical and non-technical staff and management

  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving complex environment

  • Proven ability to navigate the technology environment and work effectively with multiple groups around the globe

  • Strong negotiation/persuasion and analytical skills

  • Ability to communicate and manage in a matrix organization with multiple business partners and IT colleagues on a remote basis

  • Must have the ability to question the status quo
