Cambridge Savings Bank Head of Commercial Technology in Waltham, Massachusetts

POSITION: HEAD OF COMMERCIAL TECHNOLOGY

Summary:

The Head of Commercial Technology’s primary responsibility is to oversee the planning, implementation and maintenance of all software and systems for our Commercial Business lines. This individual will partner with Commercial business partners to set technology strategy, evaluate current and future technology needs and ensure delivery of capabilities driving the business objectives of the organization.

The Head of Commercial Technology will be the primary strategic advisor for Commercial functions to plan, coordinate, direct, and design operational activities of the IT department, as well as provide direction and support for IT solutions that enhance mission-critical business operations.

Key Result Areas:

  • Establish end-to-end model for Commercial technology strategy and delivery.

  • Establish strong technology advisor model to foster strong, collaborative, and trusted relationships with business partners.

  • Formulate and deploy near and 3-to-5-year technology strategic plans for addressing technology and experience gaps and acquiring and enabling efficient, cost-effective technology solutions that can promote the growth of the business.

  • Identify, review, and evaluate new technology and operational solutions to address existing and emerging internal and external customer needs.

  • Manage, oversee, and promote strong vendor relationships across our commercial business areas.

  • Define and align technology roadmaps, manage the project portfolio, and identify opportunities for innovation, automation, and business efficiency.

  • Facilitate the investment intake process and the high-level planning and execution of business initiatives leveraging technology.

  • Collaborate with management to develop annual technology project budgets for respective business areas.

  • Establish and review IT performance metrics, initiate continuous improvement actions, and drive cost efficiency measures.

  • Where necessary, re-engineer applications support to ensure it aligns with business processes, tactical planning, security requirements and strategic vision.

  • Oversee negotiation and administration of vendor, outsourcer, and consultant contracts and service agreements.

  • Stay on top of industry, regulatory and related technology trends. Complete appropriate analyses and research to make appropriate recommendations for change and upgrades as considered necessary.

  • Perform additional duties as required.

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology / Computer Science or degree in other field with 10+ years of IT experience.

  • Working knowledge of Financial Services or similar industry related security needs and familiarity with enterprise storage, virtualization, security, database, telecommunications, and network technologies.

  • Strong knowledge of Commercial Banking solutions including but not limited to Customer Relationship Management Systems, Loan Origination Systems, Treasury Management Products, Business Online Banking solutions, Credit Card Experience and RPA solutions.

  • 10+ years of experience in IT management and excellent organizational and leadership skills.

  • 10+ years in Information Technology of experience working in IT operations, supervising technology teams, and overseeing large information technology projects. Ability to lead, teach and mentor others.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with teams across the entire organization.

  • Ability to recognize, analyze and understand the issues and communicate regularly to internal customer base to earn appropriate level of confidence, trust, and respect.

  • Ability to work very flexible work schedule, i.e., weekends and evenings.
