National Grid Manager, Product Owner, Infrastructure in Waltham, Massachusetts

Job Purpose

To connect IS infrastructure technical project delivery and business functions by ensuring changes in project delivery are established in the business and deliver projected benefits.

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure that delivery of all change and transformation projects of infrastructure use a range of internal resources and external suppliers meeting safety standards and requirements.

  • Manage the operational relationship and performance of IT suppliers and service providers so that contractual agreements are met.

  • Plan infrastructure project scope to generate operational benefits through defining tracking metrics and optimizing timelines.

  • Lead the improvement maximization strategy for infrastructures in existing and new business operations as groups of projects are launched to achieve agreed objectives.

  • Establish and implement new measurable adjustment mechanisms for customers, employees and all relevant stakeholders to adopt the enhanced infrastructure.

  • Ensure that the work of the program, including the scope of each project, covers the necessary aspects required to deliver the products or services that will lead to operational benefits.

  • Optimizing the timing of the release of project deliverables into business operations.

Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required

  • Able to influence and manage internal and external stakeholders.

  • A good track record of interfacing with direct and third-party suppliers delivering services in onshore/offshore model.


  • Degree-level qualification in a relevant discipline

  • Has experience in managing software development through a third-party supplier and a deep understanding of SDP and IS procurement Processes

  • Understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies like Waterfall, Agile, RUP, SCRUM desirable

  • 5 years+ experience in delivering enterprise-wide business change
