Job Description:

The Enterprise Resilience Exercise Program Lead is responsible for strengthening the Bank's resiliency capabilities by planning, conducting and evaluating exercises. Provides leadership to overall global business continuity management, crisis management, service and operational resiliency, and global resolution and recovery planning by working with program sponsors to develop an exercise strategy and integrated calendar to meet the program’s objectives and compliance with applicable requirements. Surfaces issues affecting resiliency and ensures resolution. Facilitates cross-functional activities, initiatives, and discussion groups to strategize stressing and evaluating effectiveness of plans and teams. Extensively collaborates with all domestic and regional partners. Works with project teams to facilitate and execute the scope and deliverables, especially any MRA-related initiatives.

Exercises are used to stress and evaluate related plans and playbooks created by the Front Line Units and Control Functions to discover areas of opportunity and ensure appropriate execution in times of crisis. Through exercises, Front Line Units and Control Functions are able to increase their plan and execution maturity. The Exercise Senior Consultant will play a key role in effectively planning, designing, scheduling, and managing enterprise exercises in relation to enterprise stress scenarios (financial and non-financial). This role will need a firm understanding of rules and regulations that govern business continuity, operational resilience, as well as global recovery and resolution, to enable effective planning and execution. The consultant will provide subject matter consulting support in audit and regulatory matters as needed. Works with project teams to improve operational resiliency.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop the strategy and calendar for a portfolio of exercises across the enterprise

  • Create executive-level presentations to review scenarios and objectives with executive stakeholders

  • Plan, design, develop, and conduct exercises; manage observations from exercises to closure

  • Consult on operational resilience, business continuity, and/or recovery and resolution topics to lines of business

  • Provide subject matter consulting support in audit and regulatory matters, as needed

Required Skills:

  • Strong risk management skills and history of working in a highly regulated environment

  • Firm understanding rules and regulations that govern business continuity as well as global recovery and resolution

  • Strong Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery Management and/or Crisis Management experience in the banking/financial services sector

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; proficient in PowerPoint and Microsoft Project

  • Strong meeting facilitation skills; comfortable leading discussions consisting of multiple organizational levels

  • Strong relationship management skills; ability to establish and grow strong relationships

  • Experience developing and presenting executive level presentations

  • Experienced in Senior Leader Interaction / iterative dialog

  • Highly organized, ability to simultaneously prioritize tasks and handle numerous time-sensitive issues

  • Results oriented, independently driven, self-motivator

  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly

  • Identifies linkages and thinks "enterprise" across business lines and geographies

  • Embraces and drives changes

Desired Skills:

  • Degree in Emergency Response/Crisis Management/Business Continuity; Business Continuity Certification (BCI or DRII certification), or equivalent in experience.

  • Prior exercise management and facilitation experience

  • Prior program/project management experience

  • Consulting experience helpful
