National Grid Scheduling Analyst in Waltham, Massachusetts

*About the Position*:

The Scheduling Analyst plays an important role in supporting the Customer Improvement Director by scheduling and maintaining progress updates of all critical workstreams.This position is responsible for determining the most effective ways to improve customer and internal processes and deliver exceptional service. The Scheduling Analyst develops ways to maximize efficiency and manage resources and capabilities more effectively and deliver customer value. This role will also support the design and implementation of pilot programs, projects and policies within the My Accounts team to improve the ways of working for National Grid.

_Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):_

  • Plan, develop, and keep current a resource-loaded program schedule, cross-referencing vendor progress claims.

  • Identify, record, and analyze the impact of program-level work tracked, performed and not performed as scheduled.

  • Ensure program schedule has a sufficient level of detail and that critical path and resources are allocated accordingly.

  • Report schedule performance in hubs and stakeholder meetings.

  • Evaluate schedule performance and conduct impact analysis for risks and change requests.

  • Report and monitor progress against baseline plan and key milestones, ensuring scheduling issues and resolutions are communicated in a timely fashion.

  • Develop solutions for scheduling demands and change controls.

  • Work with training team to schedule and coordinate training for Customer initiatives.

  • Help to manage a pool of shared resources supporting My Account workstreams and supporting activities

  • Prepare and write relevant documentation in order that all stakeholders are fully informed and all evidence or statistics are documented.

  • Manage the day to day relationship with relevant internal parties or employees in order to understand their requirements, deliver appropriate, customized solutions and advice, and build cross-functional working in line with National Grid policies and processes.

  • Develop and utilize peer group network in order to absorb and apply technical/professional best practice within own area of specialism.

  • Execute instructions and requests, plan and organize resources and make appropriate arrangements to ensure that work is carried out efficiently and in line with relevant policies and processes.

  • Monitor and review information, updating where necessary in order to identify any anomalies or discrepancies and ensure management has access to up to date and accurate information.

  • Support and actively participate in Performance Hubs

_Knowledge & Experience Required:_

  • Bachelor's degree preferred and 3 years of related experience in a related role

  • Expert in relevant software and tools including e.g. Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Visio, and Sharepoint)

  • Broad technical depth in multiple, related fields sufficient to lead programs or projects.

  • Knowledge of National Grid's business operations, company policies and practices/(preferred)/.

  • Knowledge of relevant energy industry practice/(preferred)/.

  • Strong working knowledge of tools and systems within designated area.

  • Knowledge of and ability to learn and implement Performance Excellence or other process oriented methodology to drive towards a culture of continuous improvement
