If you are looking to join a dynamic, growing and challenging environment, GBE is the place for you. ## Job Purpose The Snowflake Architect is accountable to design business solutions that are fit for purpose, compliant and adhere to all National Grid operational, architectural and design standards and principles. Ensure the integrity of solution designs from concept through implementation, balancing the architectural concerns of projects with concerns of the enterprise. Ensure consideration of all design alternatives and provide technical guidance to wider project team and business stakeholders ## Key Accountabilities + The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and delivering Snowflake Enterprise Data Platform + The candidate will own reviewing design elements and signing off on the overall technical design. + The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the system accurately meets the defined expectations of the business, ensuring that proper testing is implemented, and performance and security requirements are closely monitored by working with the project teams. + The candidate must also have experience providing level of effort estimates for technical portion of solutions. ## Required Skills and Qualifications Required skills: 5+ years professional experience, 2+ years with Snowflake ideal (Azure as a backup) but some Snowflake is required Clarify and finalize detailed scope for migration from various on premise and cloud database planforms to Snowflake – the new Enterprise Data Platform Work with various SME’s in understanding business process flows, functional requirements specifications of existing system, their current challenges, constraints, and future expectations. Document current state & prepare target state architecture. Ask for & track reviews and feedback from peers. Reporting for all the weekly tasks in form of accurate and detailed reports. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field. Master's Degree preferred. 5+ years software development experience with a minimum of 2 years of experience in Cloud Data environments Integration product architecture experience with vendor products Technology design experience which includes Performance, Security, Availability, as well as Operations, Monitoring and Support Optional: Experience with architecting and enabling capabilities utilizing the following technologies: Linux OS, Informatica Cloud Data Quality, Data Catalog and Axon ## More Information This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills.
