Fresenius Medical Center Sr. Program Manager in Waltham, Massachusetts

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

Manage the implementation of complex, large scale programs and projects for GMQ including management of cross functional, cross plant, cross regional, and/or global scale strategic initiatives. The Senior Program Manager will focus on the development of new business processes, the planning and management of multi-team programs from conception to implementation and post implementation support; recommend enhancements to harmonize and standardize multi-site operations and business processes and to effectively integrate program requirements with existing business processes. Direct and manage business enhancement programs that drive tangible business value, cost reduction or regulatory compliance improvements. In addition, this position will define and manage the creation of policies and procedures that comply with GMQ operational practices, FDA and GxP standards. This position will manage programs in functional areas such as Manufacturing, Materials Management, Distribution, Finance, Quality Systems and Regulatory Affairs, and ensure successful integration with related Fresenius business units such as RTG, GRD, FKC and Spectra Labs in North America and the extended Fresenius global organization.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Utilizes broad expertise, advanced skills and unique knowledge to manage and oversee the implementation of complex programs and projects deemed to be medium to large in size and advanced complexity. Assigned projects generally focus on:

  • Manage and direct multi-location integration projects.

  • Manage and direct large-scale Business Process Programs.

  • Manage the implementation of new business process operational or system based functionality.

  • Establishes formal networks among groups and acts as a liaison between GMQ business operations, Fresenius IT (Netcare and North American based groups), and/or external resources as required to effectively coordinate efforts and manage programs from concept, to implementation, and stabilization.

  • Utilizes skills and knowledge to contribute to the development of company objectives and principles and to achieve goals in creative and effective ways.

  • Coordinates the efforts of all resources required to successfully implement project goals and objectives within the prescribed timeframe and budget. When timeline and/or budget deviations are identified, exercises independent judgment to implement appropriate actions to recover while keeping all stakeholders informed of the current status.

  • Insure adherence to ISO Standards, FDA regulations and GxP compliance. In addition, assist in managing the creation of policies and procedures for the business for post go live stability and continuity.

  • Manage the stabilization of each implementation to include; planning, organizing, and resolving issues. Also, responsible for post implementation support and project close out activities.

  • Determine “best business practices” to meet the goals and objectives of the business.

  • Manage task schedules and issue status reports relative to team capacity and performance.

  • Facilitate with the business operations to develop system reports to manage and measure the business processes.

  • Ensure system and process validation and documentation requirements are fully met and delivered

  • Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new or special assignments.

  • Utilizes expertise and advanced skills to contribute to the development of company objectives and principles, and achieve goals in creative and effective ways.

  • Works on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles. Exercises judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

  • Creates formal networks involving coordination among groups.

  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION :

  • BA/BS in Business or Engineering related discipline. Advanced degree preferred

  • PMI Certification, preferred

  • Employees meeting the criteria to attain the GMQ Senior Program Manager position are encouraged to attain project management certification (PMP).

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Minimum of 12 years of experience as a Program/Project Manager with a proven track record of successful delivery of large scale programs and projects.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to develop positive relationships at all levels of the organization.

  • Excellent presentation, expectation management and training skills, consistently meeting specific needs of various client groups, project teams, and target audiences.

  • Proficient in establishing working relationships with B&C levels of Management & Financial executives, Project Team members, End-users; and the various support teams

  • Strong experience in identifying and aligning appropriate functional and technical skills and resources necessary to meet strategic goals and business objectives, within prescribed timelines and budget parameters.

  • Experienced in managing culturally diverse workforce and business environments.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • The ability to work cross functionally in a matrix management environment.

  • Above average PC skills with MS Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project Management)
