Job Summary

As the Sr Manager, Digital Enablement you will lead groups and efforts that further our efforts to offer best in class tools and capabilities to our policyholders and agency partners.

Your areas of focus will evolve as digital enablement expands its footprint in and outside of the company, but initial focus will revolve around the platforms we provide to our agents and customers to learn about our company, programs, and offerings, as well as transact business with us in an omni-channel approach. You will play the role of both platform owner and department manager, leading your direct and indirect cross functional teams to the achievement of their plans and objectives.

You will be looked to as an expert in the application of technology to achieve business goals, and support areas across the organization in their efforts to increase digital capabilities. To be successful, you will collaborate well and prioritize your efforts and the efforts of your team to maximize impact and effectiveness.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Education: Bachelor's Degree or professional level of knowledge in a specialized field, or equivalent related experience preferred.

Experience: 9 - 11 years or Master's Degree equivalent plus 7 - 9 years.

Knowledge: Complete understanding and knowledge of industry, practices, standards, and concepts within field of work and broad business segment. Solid knowledge of management practices.

Decision Making: Influences development of overall objectives including long-range goals for the organization. Typically exercises judgment within broadly defined policies and practices. Establishes, modifies operating policies and procedures that affect subordinate units. Recommends modifications to broad operating policies which may impact projects, operations, and considerable expenditure risk and major portions of operations. Problems are generally diverse, complex and impact major business segments.

Supervision Received: Assignments are received in objective-oriented terms, and combine both strategic and tactical responsibilities. Work is reviewed for unit's overall adequacy in meeting organizational objectives.

Leadership: Middle manager who typically manages high level exempt employees, subordinate managers or supervisors and may manage multiple functions disciplines. Provides guidance based on organizational goals and company policy. Responsible for numerous functional and or technical projects. Develops and administers budgets, schedules, and performance requirements.

Problem Solving /Operations/Direct Work Involvement: Responsible for all projects assigned to subordinate unit. Acts as advisor to subordinate supervisors, managers, staff, to resolve technical or operational problems. Subject to approval, modifies organizational structure.

Client Contacts: Frequent contacts with internal and external parties at various management levels concerning operations or scheduling project phases. Communication typically involves persuasion, and negotiation with middle and senior management levels.

  • Bachelor's Degree or professional level of knowledge in a specialized field, or equivalent, related experience

  • 6 - 8 years - or Associates Degree equivalent plus 8 or more years

  • Advanced knowledge of practices within field. Integrates and evaluates new advancements in industry, concepts, techniques and standards to contribute to successful business results.

  • Makes complex decisions interpreting company policy, for which there is no set procedure. Decisions influence success for projects of significant impact importance, client relationships, expenses and or ability to meet organizational objectives.

  • Work is performed without appreciable direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignment.

  • Plans, allocates the activities of project teams. Provides training and guidance to less experienced staff.

  • Develops solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of innovation. Ensures that solutions are effective in meeting organizational objectives. Questions problem definition to address underlying issues.

  • Manages internal and external relationships. Represents organization as prime contact for projects and other necessary communications. Interaction may include senior internal and external personnel on significant matters often requiring complex coordination between organizations. Communication involves persuasion and negotiation, as applicable. Seeks ways of improving client service.
