Application-Specific Integrated Circuit Design Engineer

Key Role:

Develop and apply advanced hardware design methods, theories, and research techniques in the investigation and solution of complex and advanced technical problems. Plan, conduct, and technically direct projects or major phases of significant projects, coordinating the efforts of technical support personnel, drafters, technical writers, and electronics technicians in the performance of assigned projects. Conduct investigations and tests of considerable complexity. Review literature, patents, and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects. Recommend corrections in technical applications and analysis. Evaluate vendor capabilities to provide required products or services. Provide technical consultation to other organizations and work leadership for junior employees.

Basic Qualifications:

-Experience with the design and fabrication of Application-Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICs), including product definition to production release

-Experience with industry standard CAD methodologies, including Cadence, Synopsys, or Mentor

-Experience with design flows and methodologies used for chip verification

-Experience with the functional verification of microprocessors or ASIC designs

-Knowledge of SOC and system architecture

-Ability to obtain a security clearance required

-BA or BS degree or 8 years of experience with hardware design in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with digital signal processing algorithms a plus

-Ability to be self-motivated and perform without supervision

-Ability to manage small technical teams

-Ability to be highly organized and prioritize and juggle multiple work streams on tight deadlines

-Possession of excellent analytical and presentation skills

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-BS degree in EE preferred; MS degree a plus
